I waited for him to say something, but he didn’t.

Guess my subconscious hadn’t created a chatty guy for me. Not surprising; I would probably talk enough for both of us.

I started to raise my hand to touch his face, but realized I was clutching something. When I lifted my head to see what I was holding on to, I blinked.

It was a sword.

A huge, golden sword.

What the hell kind of dream had I put myself in?

As I stared at the sword, it slowly began to disintegrate, turning to dust or ash that was immediately carried away in a soft breeze I hadn’t noticed before.

I looked back up, expecting the man to have vanished, but he was still there.

Still leaning over me, staring at me.

And damn, those eyes were intense.

I started to open my mouth, to say something, but then the ground rumbled beneath me.

Shit.

Was I dreaming up an earthquake?

Why couldn’t this be one of those typical sex dreams normal people were supposed to have?

“Who are you?” I called to the man above me, since the ground was still rumbling.

He didn’t answer, just kept staring at me.

The ground rumbled beneath me again, and the smell of smoke got thicker.

“Please become a sex dream,” I urged my subconscious aloud.

Nothing changed.

Guess it was time to take the dream’s fate in my own hands.

Reaching up, I grabbed the man’s face and pulled him down to me.

Our lips crushed together, but he remained completely still.

Did he not want to be kissed?

What kind of shitty sex dream was this?

In a last-ditch attempt, I slid my tongue between his lips.

The moment our tongues met, the man burst into action. His pelvis was pressed against mine, his fingers buried in my hair, and his tongue brutalizing my mouth.

Way to go, subconscious.

I kissed him back just as brutally as he kissed me, wrapping my legs around his ass as he rocked against me.

The kiss went on for an awesome, long minute before the ground decided to shake again—much more violently.

The man wrenched his head away from mine, dropping his hands on the dead grass on either side of my head and holding himself up once again. His eyes were no longer glowing—they were a pretty shade of soft gold—but his nose was still only a breath away from mine.
