“I’m going to take you to meet with Tyson. Go get changed into something different. You know the drill.”

I nod and take the gun from him before heading into the closet. I shed my clothes and find a pair of ripped jeans and an oversized sweater. I check the safety of the gun before tucking it into my waistband. After putting on a baseball cap, I pull the hood of the sweater up and tuck my hair into it.

When I look in the mirror, I look like just another girl one of my brothers brought home for the night. My father’s men won’t think anything if they see me following Damien out.

Before I leave the closet, I tuck the money into my pocket. Wherever Tyson and I go, we won’t be able to use our cards. We will have to stay off the radar as much as possible.

“Ready,” I say as I walk back into my bedroom.

“Keep your eyes down and don’t look up. If anyone says anything to you, just keep your mouth shut.”

I nod and follow Damien out of my room. My heart is racing as he leads the way through the hall and to the stairs. We pass several of my father’s men. Even though I don’t look up, I can feel their gazes lingering on me.

“Almost there,” Damien says as we reach the main floor.

He leads the way to the garage and selects one of the cars with the darkest window tint. I get in the passenger seat, buckling up and slumping against the door like I’m asleep.

“Don’t move a muscle until we’re off the property,” Damien says as he gets in the car.

Damien backs the car out of the driveway. My palms are sweating and I feel like I’m going to be sick. This is risky. I don’t know if it’s going to work.

He turns the music up as he drives down the driveway. Damien hums along with the song that’s playing as he stops at the gates and speaks to one of the men there for a few minutes.

Once he’s driving again, I breathe a sigh of relief.

“Alright,” Damien says after a few more minutes of driving. “Keep your hood up but you don’t have to pretend to be asleep anymore.”

“Where are we going?” I ask as he takes the nearest exit onto the highway.

“To the airport.” He looks over at me and smiles. “Sit back and relax, Aria. It’s going to be a long drive.”

When we getto the airport, I’m exhausted. The stars are hanging high in the sky and the moon is shining. Damien drives to the private hangars and pulls into one with the rolling door up.

There’s a dim light shining from within the hangar as we enter. I look around, squinting through the darkness and trying to see if Tyson is there.

I’m still not convinced that my brothers got him out.

As the car comes to a stop, Tyson appears beneath the wing of the private plane with another man beside him. Damien gets out of the car with me and follows me over to Tyson.

Tyson looks at me, his gaze traveling up and down my body before he nods at my brother. Heat floods between my legs as that heated gaze returns to me.

“Are you alright?” he asks.

“I’m fine. Took a kick in the ribs and another in the stomach. Might be some bruising.”

“The equivalent of a hug in our family,” Damien says as he wraps his arms around my shoulder. He pulls me into a hug before releasing me. “Stay safe, Aria. I want to see you again someday.”

“I’ll see you once Dad is no longer a problem.”

Damien nods and looks at the plane. “I have a friend of mine flying you today. Dad is in Italy. You have a two-day head start to get out of the country and get hidden before he comes back.”

I throw my arms around my brother and hug him tight. “Thank you for this.”

“Stay alive, Aria,” he says as he hugs me back.

After a moment, he takes a step back and heads to the car. I watch as he gets in and speeds out of the hangar, disappearing into the night.
