He didn’t care about any of it other than he was ready to burst and wasn’t sure if she was close so he applied more pressure hoping that the noises she was making were a sign she was getting there.

Her head flung back, her mouth opened and she let out a long loud groan as he felt her pulsing around him.

He grabbed her hips and started to thrust up into her in short jerky motions, releasing all the tension in his body.

She dropped down on top of his chest, her mouth to his neck, a few small kisses being placed.

“That was wonderful.”

He laughed. “You did all the work.”

“I did. That’s why it was wonderful.”

He kissed her on the forehead and hugged her. She moved off of him when he would have rather continued to hold her.

But he had to get cleaned up anyway and they might be pushing their luck with Fred.

Funny how that popped into his head.

He went to the bathroom and she followed him in there. She moved to the toilet that was separated and he took care of the condom. Guess she wasn’t shy about those things. He never was either but not many women were like Faith.

When they were dressed again, she opened the door. “Let’s see if Fred is where we left him.”

No sign of the dog outside the bedroom door. When they got to the stairs though, they saw Fred at the bottom looking up at them, then dipping his head and barking.

“What’s that about?”

“I don’t know,” she said. “But he gave us time and space so I’ll take it.”

“I think he deserves another treat too,” he said.

“Sure. Why not? You can spoil him.”

He got Fred his treat and the two of them were in the kitchen. She got some water and opened the bottle and started to chug it. He felt parched himself. Before he could get his own bottle his phone rang. It was in the living room so he went to get it and prayed it wasn’t work.

It wasn’t. But it was his grandmother. His mother’s mother.

“Hi, Grandma,” he said. He wouldn’t ignore it. He didn’t talk to her much and if she called it might be important.

“Sawyer,” Gretta Long said. “Grandpa is having some health issues.”

“What’s wrong?” he asked. He looked at Faith and saw her perk up and move closer to him.

“It’s his heart. It’s not working as well as it should. He’s been short of breath lately so I made him go to the doctor.”

“What did they say?” he asked.

“That he needs to have surgery. He needs a valve or something replaced. It was all so confusing to me. Grandpa won’t do it. He says it’s not worth it. He’s fine. Will you talk to him?”

“Put him on the phone,” he said.

“He’s resting right now. That is why I was able to get away to call you. Will you come visit? You’ll see what I do. I know you’re busy and all.”

“I’ll be there next Saturday,” he said. “Or do you need me sooner?”

“That’s fine. He has another appointment that following Monday.”

“Do you want me to go with you to it?”
