“Just stop, man. I don’t want to fight you!” Grady grunts.

“Like fuck! Put up a fight, you prick, and while you’re at it, stay the fuck away from Thelma!”

Oh my god. My mouth drops open, and I’m frozen to the spot. Why isJimmyfighting with Grady?

“Yeah, that’s not happening. But if you could stop trying to choke me out, that’d be great.”

“Like fuck it’s not happening. Thelma is fucking mine!”

My heart thuds in my chest. Since when am I his? I thought he didn’t want anything other than hooking up. My feet finally unstick, and I run down the length of the hallway, stopping when I reach the living area, my eyes wide as I watch Grady and Jimmy wrestle, the small end table near the front door on its side, pieces of the broken vase scattered around.

Oh my god. They’re going to hurt themselves on the broken porcelain.

“Everyone, stop!” I shriek. They cease grappling, two sets of eyes turning toward me. Jimmy’s eyes widen as they flicker down to where I’m clutching the towel closed at my chest.

Grady takes the opportunity of Jimmy’s distraction to shove him off, glaring at him as he stands, dusting his suit off. Jimmy scrambles to his feet, shooting Grady a death stare as he closes the distance between us in two steps, grabbing my arm and dragging me back to my bedroom.

He kicks the door shut behind us, turning and pausing as I cross my arms over my chest, staring at him in disbelief.

“Tell Quinn to fuck off.”

My eyebrows shoot up. Uh, I can’t dothat. He’s my bodyguard. Rolling my eyes, I pin Jimmy with an incredulous stare.

“Why? Because I’m yours?”

“Yeah,” he growls. My heart thumps in my chest. But that’s not what we discussed. That’s not what he wanted the last time we spoke about what we were doing. I have whiplash from his changing his mind.

“You didn’t want to date me,” I remind him, shaking my head. He had his chance. He kind of rejected me. I shrugged it off, but if I’m being honest, ithurt.

“Well, now I fucking do.”

I’d be flattered, but I think I know what’s going on. After all, I grew up with Lance and Parker. I keep my arms firmly anchoring the towel across my chest.

“Maybe I don’t want to be the toy you only wanted when someone else got me.”

Jimmy blows out a breath, shoving a hand through his hair. Ugh, he needs to not do that. It makes his hair look all tousled like it does after we screw.

“Look, I was wrong. I fucking want you.”

Okay, I wanted to hear that weeks ago. That’s when I wanted to hear that. This feels…like a reaction.

“And what happens when Grady disappears? You’ll stop wanting me?” I wince, hating how pitiful I sound.

“No. Never.”

He might sound sincere, but that’s only because that’s what he thinks he wants. He didn’t want to date me until Grady showed up. This is simply some weird guy possessiveness thing.

“You don’t want me. You want a casual hookup.”

“No, I’m pretty sure I want you.”

“I don’t want you to be pretty sure.”

“I’m totally sure.”

“Only because you want to win the competition.”

Jimmy shakes his head, running a hand through his hair again.
