A shiver ran down my spine at his threat, delicious anticipation making my belly ache. I couldn't wait until he heals up enough to take me. I was content with Cormac and Miko but needed to get lost in Antonio's touch until all sense of reality faded.

The looming threat of the unknown was like a dark cloud following us.

I started working on some basics inside ACM Enterprises cybersecurity, poking around and looking for the signature of the person siphoning off the data. Still, I hadn't had any luck so far. Whoever it was, they were good at hiding their trail.

But I hadn't given up just yet. Miko was taking me into the office tomorrow, where I could better understand what the mainframe looked like. I hope to find answers instead of more questions.

"Any word back from the Omega Syndicate?" Cormac asked as he pulled his phone out of his back pocket.

"Nothing. They’re still radio silent. Something that is beginning to worry me." Antonio scrubbed a hand down his face before his hands clenched into fists. "Annaleise was a bitch. I can't imagine they’re too disappointed with her death, although I'm sure their omegas stick together."

Guess that makes me an odd omega because I would never allow a woman so vile to be a friend, even if she had been a fellow omega.

"I don't like this." Miko paced along the length of the room. "It's been too quiet from them. Something is going down."

"I can try to contact the number that reached out to me."

In perfect harmony, the three bellowed “No” simultaneously.

"Don't get me wrong, Princess, they're more likely to respond to you, but we aren't going to take that chance." Miko was in a foul mood today.

"We need to get this figured out because the longer we keep letting time go on, the more likely something bad will happen." I didn't get Antonio back just to have something happen to him or the others. "Were you able to get my laptop and other things from my loft?"

Miko nodded. "In your room. But, Alexis, it looked like someone had tossed the place already."

"What?!" I exploded off the bed. "When were you going to say something? You should have started with that information."

Cormac ground his teeth together, the muscles in his neck straining under the effort. "They didn't find your safe area, which is why I haven't put you on complete lockdown right now. But you'll need to wear a disguise tomorrow at the office, just in case."

"No," Antonio barked. "No fucking way she's going in now. I won't allow it. Her safety is too important. We can figure out another way to find the mole."

"You don't get to decide that, Tony." I placed my hands on my hips and stared him down. "I'm going to figure out who is trying to sabotage your company, and the only way I can do that is by being in the office. Period, end of statement."

I fought to control my breathing as my pulse raced inside my body. I turned away, not wanting him to see how emotional this made me. I was a badass; I didn't need to throw a temper tantrum and start crying. But the burning in the back of my eyes told me I was about two steps away from doing that.

I wanted to avoid being told what to do, especially regarding something like this. I wanted to help. Ineededto help. To prove that I was useful and that my skills could be an asset to my pack.

"Lexi, please look at me." Antonio reached out and grasped my hand, pulling me toward him. I turned around and blinked back the tears, forcing them deep down. "I don't want anything to harm you. That's the only reason why I said no. I couldn't live with myself if something happened to you."

He kissed my knuckles, and I sighed as I moved closer to him. I snuggled up against his side, splaying my hand over his heart. "I know that, Tony. But you can't just make these blanket statements and forbid me from doing something. We're a team—all four of us. I need to contribute to feel valued, and this is something that's within my skillset. Don't you think I want to protect you guys too?"

"I know,Tesoro."His arm wrapped around my middle, and his lips pressed to the top of my head. "Miko is going to be your shadow the entire time you're there. Plus, I want Luca and Roberto to look after you, too. They won't get in your way, but if shit hits the fan, I know they will protect you with their lives."

I just prayed it wouldn't come to something so extreme.

Monday afternoon, I kissed Antonio goodbye, a long, lingering, and passionate kiss that made my toes curl. He was definitely trying to get me to stay in bed, rather than go into ACM Enterprises headquarters to try and track down the mole.

"You don't play fair," I whispered against his lips, lifting my head just a few inches.

"Never said I would." He grinned and nipped my bottom lip. "Now go before I change my mind again and force you to stay here where I'd keep you in my bed all day and make you forget even wanting to leave again."

"That wouldn't be happening because you and I have a date, Cavalori." Ronan stood with his arms crossed over his chest as he leaned against the doorway. Dark tattoos peeked out from the collar of his shirt, the ink covering almost every inch of his exposed skin. I'd be drooling over him if I wasn't so in love with my three guys.

But I would never admit that out loud. Because then Antonio would really probably shoot him.

"Let's go, Princess." Miko took my hand and led me from the room just as Ronan and Antonio started arguing over the number of reps he'd do today.

"It will be a long couple of weeks until he's up and walking." I shook my head, rolling my eyes as Antonio started cursing at Ronan in Italian.
