What the fuck was I going to do?

“You always have an ulterior motive,” I snapped back. I straightened my spine and forced myself to breathe out of my mouth. I had to compose myself, and I couldn’t do that with vanilla and cloves clouding my thoughts.

“Possibly.” He shrugged. “But why don’t we just enjoy the moment, little one.” Miko leaned forward, the narrow table doing nothing to protect me from another blast of his scent as he got closer.

“I think I need to leave.” I planted my hands on the table and got to my feet.

Miko wrapped a large hand around my wrist. “Alexis, you need to sit down. Now.” His voice was even and firm. Warm breath spread over my face as he leaned close to my ear. “You’re in danger. That’s what I came here to tell you. Now sit.”

I found myself sitting back on the smooth surface of the booth. Alpha energy pulsed Miko, bending me to his will and making me follow his direction.

A whimper escaped my throat as my gaze dropped, settling on Miko’s shirt. My mouth went dry. Fuck, my brain scrambled under Miko’s alpha mojo.

“Please,” I whispered, pleading with him to let me go. I tried to suck in a full breath, but it caught in my throat. My heart was beating too fast, and black spots danced in my vision.

His brow furrowed as he looked over me. “Alexis?”

“Panic,” I panted. “Attack.” I was desperately trying to get myself under control and slow my heartbeat.

But it was useless.

Miko grabbed my arm and placed my palm over his heart. He held it there as our eyes connected once again. “Breathe with me, Robin. That’s it. In and out. I’ve got you, little omega.”

Robin. He called me Robin. My hacking alter ego was a part of me—a section of my life where I could be anyone I wanted to be. So, I chose Robin. Rob from the rich and give to the needy and all that jazz.

I breathed with Miko, our heartbeats syncing as the black spots recessed and I regained control over my body.

Blue eyes practically glowing in the dim light, Miko’s lips quirked in a smile. “That’s it. Much better. Now let’s go somewhere quieter.”

Before I could open my mouth further, he swept me into his arms princess-style and strode toward the front door with purpose.

“What the fuck are you doing?” I screeched, but the band started playing, drowning out my voice. I pounded my fists on his back as he moved quickly through the door. “Miko let me go, you mother fucking psychopath!”

He shifted me, moving me over his shoulder and resting a possessive hand over my ass.

Cold air washed over my thighs, making it painfully obvious how short my skirt was. Fuck a duck. This was not good. An obsessive psychopath was about to kidnap me.

Miko rumbled with laughter. “You have a foul mouth, little omega. I think we need to do something about that. You deserve a good spanking. But I’ll save that for later.”

“Where are you taking me?” I smacked my fist into his back and kicked my legs, desperate to hit any vital part of his body.

“Somewhere quiet where we can talk.” His voice was perfectly steady. Calm. Like I wasn’t fighting and screaming like a banshee for him to let me go.

Nope. The psychopath was carrying on like it was normal to kidnap random girls.

We got to a dark sedan parked less than a block from the club, and he opened the back door. “In we go, Robin.”

Fuck him and his upbeat tone. I was going to kick him in the balls when I could.

He bent and hoisted me in, and I quickly turned over and kicked my foot out. Even in my low-heeled boots, getting kicked would still hurt if I made contact with his balls.

But the fucker saw it coming and chuckled as he sank onto the plush leather and closed the door.

Before I could get another shot in, he wrapped an arm around my legs and pinned them to the seats. Another scream was wrenched from my throat before he slapped his palm over my mouth tight enough that I couldn’t part my lips to bite him.
