Ezra: I’ll find coverage and meet you there

Ellie: Thanks, guys. Collin is super excited

Atlas: As he should be. That’s huge news.

Ellie: Walter is already on edge so I’m going back to work. See you guys then.

Atlas: Can’t wait for dessert.

With a grin, I tucked my phone away, ignoring the laughter from my friends as my cheeks warmed. The prospect of fucking my pack after all the chaos had me matching Collin’s excitement.

I needed a night of no stress. No thinking about Bear and what that meant for our pack. No thinking about Morgan and her desire to destroy my happiness. And no thoughts about how I would feel seeing the Forrest pack again.

At the end of the day, the only people I wanted to focus on were my current pack. We were growing closer every single day, I wasn’t letting anything get in the way of that.

Ellie

Thanks to Kat calling ahead we didn’t even have to wait for a table. They’d pushed two together and sat us all at once. Micah, Tori, and my entire pack had joined us.

When our favorite waiter, Matteo, brought over the usual drinks for us without asking, Serenity looked like she was ready to hug him.

Walter’s mood had improved, but only slightly. After several waves of busy coffee orders we all needed to let loose.

The guys put in their own drink orders and we all ordered dinner. I was starving and already digging into the chips and queso.

“We should head over to Silver Creek after this. The club downtown is calling my name,” Serenity said.

“I’m not one for clubbing but I’ll come,” Ezra said, giving me a look that said he was doing this only for me.

“After that sale, I’d say we earned a solid night of partying,” Collin grinned, giving Micah a fist bump.

“If we are, I’m scheduling two hotel rooms. No one needs to be driving that late,” Ezra said. Not a single person argued with him. After losing his family in a car accident it would be a losing fight. He only wanted to keep us safe. Funny how this man took better care of me than my parents ever had.

“Sold,” Kat said. “I just have to be back for work. The Raven’s Nest opens at nine.”

“We’ll make it,” Serenity said. “It wouldn’t be the first time.”

“No but Walter has no mercy for hangovers,” Kat groaned. “I’ll have to take it easy.”

“And yet you won’t,” Serenity countered before turning to me. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen Ellie drunk. Are you the type that dances or are you gonna get quiet?”

“Oh, she’ll dance,” Tori said confidently. “Just get her buzzed first.”

“I can’t wait to see it,” Atlas said as he sat back, studying me. “I'd bet you’re sexy as hell when you let loose.”

“I’m always sexy,” I teased, giving him a wink that had Tori losing it.

“Damn, Ellie, he’s smooth,” she said. “Definitely a keeper.”

“He is,” I agreed. “They all are.”

“Oh gross,” Serenity groaned, letting out a whoop when we were interrupted by our food coming out.

“So, details, Collin,” Micah demanded before taking a bite of his fajita.

“I’d barely put it up when I got the message. Max is an omega who, apparently, has been scouting open stores here in Lockwood for a while.”

“Is he from here?” I asked the others. They all shook their heads.
