As if he could read the future, the interaction played out the same. They looked surprised, then did just as Collin described. I couldn’t help it, the moment they smirked and clinked their bottles I lost it. My laughter was loud, followed by Bear and a few others at the table.
We dismissed them completely then. Atlas launched into a crazy story from his house showings today while the rest of us listened. The pizza came and we scarfed it down like we’d never eaten before in our lives.
Overall it was a normal dinner. Collin’s move had seemed crazy, but it did its job. It sent a message right back that we’d be living our lives. Their intimidation had been useless.
Even as we got up to leave we didn’t spare them a glance, winding our way through the busy dining room until we were back outside.
“See you at home, guys,” I called out as I climbed in Atlas’s white charger. Dean climbed in with us while the rest of them climbed into Bear’s blue SUV. It was nice to have more than one car in the pack that could fit a majority of us.
I half expected headlights to follow us home but the road was empty the entire drive.
As the others trickled inside I opted for the porch swing. Part of me wanted to keep watch for now, the other just wanted to enjoy the night air.
“Mind if I join you?” Bear asked, sitting down next to me. The more time I spent with him the stronger his scent was.
“Of course not,” I offered. Collin hovered at the door a moment before finally going inside.
We swung back and forth in silence for a bit before he broke it.
“I’m still interested in being with you, Ellie,” he said quietly. “I never wanted anything different. I know we both have fated mates… but I, frankly, don’t care.”
My chest warmed at his words. From the moment he confessed how badly things had gone after I left and how he’d fought for me, I’d realized I wanted the same.
“I’d love that,” I admitted. Bear looked downright shocked at my admission and I laughed, leaning forward and pressing a kiss to his lips. His sweet omega scent surrounded me and I felt his breath hitch at the same time. I wondered if it was the same for him.
Bear’s hand moved to my neck, holding me in place as he deepened it. When he finally released me, we were both breathless and the scent of our arousal filled the air.
“I just want you to know, the relationship you have with Collin, is yours and yours alone. What I have with him is the same, as is our own. If we do something, the three of us, that’s fine, but I won’t ever interfere or overstep those boundaries,” I promised him.
“Oh, I definitely need him to fuck us together,” he husked out. “I didn’t even know I was into that.”
“I’ve fucked this pack as a group. I promise you, you’ll be into it,” I said with a laugh. “Just wait until we both go into heat. It’ll be insanity.”
“My suppressors run out in a few weeks,” he admitted sheepishly. “I keep meaning to go to the pharmacy.”
“You can get them if it makes you more comfortable,” I promised him. “But we can also ride it out.”
“I’ll think on it,” he said. “I just don’t want heat to hit while they’re still in town.”
“They won’t be for long, that I can promise you.”

“Eleanor Winters, this is a reminder that your birth control shot ran out a month ago. We sent several emails that have gone without response. Please call us back if you’d like to schedule the next appointment.”
“Fuck,” I breathed out. In all the chaos of moving and the show ending, I’d forgotten all about making the appointment. Hell, I avoided my email like the plague these days, it didn’t surprise me I’d missed theirs.
Flipping my phone open I looked at the calendar, bile rising in my throat as I realized I’d missed my last two periods completely. I could explain one away on stress… but two?
Fuck.
I did the only thing an omega could do in that moment. Pulling out my phone I went to my bestie group chat.
