“Does that matter?” I drawled, leaning back in my chair. “Her pack won’t even know yet, get that shit out there fast.”

“Oh I will, I’m just not sure this will do what you think it will,” she said bluntly. “It’ll be the world cheering on this omega they’ve fallen for.”

“I promise, it will be worth it.” With that I hung up, grinning down at my phone.

Now I just had to wait for the fallout.

Ellie

The next morning I was no more certain on how to tell the guys. As I stared down at the fourth test I’d taken I couldn’t deny that I was, in fact, pregnant.

The pack wanted a date night tonight, so if I wanted to rip off the bandage I could tell them then, but I didn’t want to rush into it because of the Forrest pack. They had no place in our lives.

Ellie: I can’t deny it anymore, guys. There’s two lines.

Serenity: Auntie Serenity does have a nice ring to it.

Kat: AHHHH!

Kat: This is going to be so fun. I think Ludwig will love being an uncle.

Ellie: How do I tell the guys? I want it to be something adorable and not just an ‘oh hey, btw.’

Serenity: We’ll come up with something, you’ve got time. You’ll probably want an ultrasound first so you have the picture to include.

Ellie: That’s a good point. God I didn’t even think about all the appointments I’ll have to go to. I need to call the OB.

Kat: Tell the bean Auntie Kat loves it!

Before I could respond my phone was ringing. When I saw Candace’s number I groaned, knowing this wouldn’t be fun. But I’d avoided her enough. She was right, I still had a contract to fulfill. One last interview and a reunion episode and I was free.

Part of me was excited to walk in with Bear by my side.

“Hello, Candace,” I said, keeping my voice light. “How can I help you?”

“Eleanor Darling,” she gushed as if we were on good terms. The phone calls always started out so peppy but easily devolved into bullshit. “The reunion episode is coming up, we finally have a date.” She gave me all the details before asking if I’m coming.

“You said it was required, so I’ll be there,” I said as neutrally as I could.

“Perfect, I was just making sure it didn’t coincide with your pregnancy. Have a great afternoon, darling!”

She hung up and I stared at the phone in horror. How the fuck did she know?!

Bear and my girls were the only ones who knew about it. There was no way Serenity or Kat would sell me out and I’d like to think Bear wouldn’t either.

It couldn’t all be an act, right?

Part of me was terrified, the hurt side coming out to play and whispering words of doubt into my soul.

My hands shook as I sat on the edge of the bed. I knew that Candace wasn’t just saying it to scare me, there’d be actions behind her words.

That meant that tonight was literally my only option to tell the guys before the chance was taken from me. I couldn’t let that happen.

Needing a break from my own mind and panic, I went to the kitchen and grabbed the tins of tea I had ready for Grant. He had become my safe haven in Lockwood when I needed a few minutes away.

The drive was peaceful and I sent a quick text to the guys when I left and when I arrived. It was the only way I got them off my back, not to mention I wasn’t about to let them babysit me every day.

The house was quiet when I arrived and when he didn’t answer the door, I walked around back. If he wasn’t inside, he was locked away in his garden.
