“Here’s hoping the universe is listening. I’m over the whole thing,” I grumbled.

“You guys ready in here?” Dean asked as he stepped through the door. “Dad’s finished.” He had a tray in his hand loaded with steaks, potatoes, corn, and chicken.

“I swear he thought we were starving,” I said at the mound of food on the tray. It was enough to feed us all and have leftovers for everyone.

Everyone followed him in and started loading plates. I didn’t hold back, my stomach still growling. It had been a long day and I’d skipped lunch thanks to the awful call with Candace.

My stomach churned at the reminder of the pregnancy and the fact Candace knew before my men.

Before I could stop myself my eyes drifted to Bear who was laughing at something that Atlas said. He glanced my way and gave me a quick smile before turning back. He fit right in and I couldn’t find it in me to let the thought take hold that he’d betrayed me already.

“I’m going to kick on the game, it’s still running,” Grant said. He stood up and turned it on, the sound of theMy Fairytaleintro song playing had me entire body tensing. Grant loved the network and trash TV, and I looked away before it could tank my mood. He had the remote in hand, already trying to change the station.

“We have an update on one of our omegas from the first season,” the woman said into the mic, her eyes dancing excitedly. “It seems a stork has visited our favorite girl. The question is, just who are the fathers?”

Bile rose in my throat as a picture of Bear and I standing in the pharmacy holding up a pregnancy test flashed on the screen.

“No,” Bear breathed out in horror. I could feel all eyes on me but I couldn’t see through the wall of tears rising in my eyes.

How fucking dare they take this from me. It was my secret to tell and now I had to look at my guys and break the news in a way Ineverintended. I knew Candace would do something, but this was a new low… even for her.

Our bond was full of their shock and confusion. This was not the plan.

“Ellie?” Ezra’s voice was so low and flat that I couldn’t even look at him. This was the worst possible way this could have come up.

“This wasn’t how it was supposed to be,” I breathed out, ending on a whimper. Defeat, frustration, anger, hurt, and worry all converged into a painful tightening in my chest. My pack was surrounding me in seconds, hands pressing onto my skin, someone rubbing my back gently, another stroking my hair.

“Breathe, Ellie. We’re here,” Collin promised. “This isn’t your fault.”

“You weren’t supposed to find out like this. I was going to set up a doctor appointment and get an ultrasound, use the pictures and do something cute.”

“So, you’re pregnant?” Ezra asked. I nodded, but still didn’t look up at him. I couldn’t face them. Not fully.

“Look at us,” Dean demanded. I shook my head and he kneeled down so I had no choice. “Do you think we’re angry?”

“No,” I admitted. “But it’s… a lot on top of everything else.”

“Fuck them, they don’t get to take this excitement away from us,” Atlas said emphatically.

“I’m going to be a dad?” Collin asked, letting out a laugh that was a mix of shock and excitement. Then they were all talking back and forth, grinning like madmen.

“Oh my god, can you believe this?” Atlas asked, slapping his brother on the back.

“We’re going to be the best fucking dads,” Dean agreed excitedly. “We’ve got it all. Ezra can do the discipline, Collin the heartfelt talks, Bear the sweet and tender moments, and us being the fun ones.”

“Hey, I’m fun,” Ezra argued.

“Fun is how you guys got into this,” Tori said, reminding us we aren’t alone. “But I’m glad. I’m going to be an auntie!” she squealed so loud that Micah and Grant covered their ears.

“I never thought I’d have my boys back together, and now I’m going to be a grandpa?” Grant beamed now, his eyes a bit glassy.

“You guys are okay with this?” I asked finally, needing to hear them all say they were all in.

“Of course we are,” Ezra said, shaking his head. “You thought we’d bail?”

“Not really. I was just worried you’d be freaked out, need space,” I explained. “This is huge and we never really discussed kids.”

“Well, I for one, can’t wait,” Dean admitted. “This is amazing.”
