"Wait." The last man from Silas's group stood and walked over to me.

He stopped just a foot away and breathed in, nodding as if he confirmed some unspoken question. When I didn't react he stepped forward, crowding me. The scent of coconut and tea leaves hit me so strong my knees nearly buckled.

“Jackson.” He offered his name like it was some well-kept secret, his voice low and serious.

“Uh, Serenity?” I asked more than told him. He gave a flicker of a smile before his face was serious again.

We stood there awkwardly and I let my eyes roam over him. He had sharp features, chiseled cheekbones and a jawline that made him model worthy. Though I didn’t think they’d appreciate his intimidating stare that bordered on a scowl.

Blue eyes that were a mix of grays and blues, swirling together into an ocean studied me just as intently. His blond hair was long and tied back though a few strands hung down in his face and I fought the urge to tuck them behind his ear.

That would be a completely irrational and borderline creepy move for strangers.

Even if we were mates.

“Sit down,” Silas’ brother called out.

Jackson let out a small sigh. “That’s Amos. He’s kind of intense.”

It was a laughable statement made from a man that had barely cracked a smile.

“Okay, maybe a full meeting was too much,” I sighed, unsure what to do with myself once Jackson walked away.

Isaac stood, towering over the rest and moving in front of me. I had to tilt my head back to look up at him. His blue eyes were layered with concern and intrigue.

“We can leave if that helps?”

The offer would help but before I could process it I was answering him on instinct, the omega side of me refusing to let her alpha leave.

Or one of her alphas.

“No,” I said. Shockingly, I was glad I said it, this was like ripping off a bandage, it needed to be done all at once.

“Well then, I want to introduce myself,” another man stepped forward with a second right behind, the rest of the Sulley Pack. “I’m Sawyer, this is Vince.”

This time I knew the mate bond would kick in and braced myself for it.

Spearmint filled my senses and I stared up at the tattooed beta in front of me. He had the same sun-kissed scent as the others in his pack. His brown eyes locked onto me, widening as he came to the same realization I already had.

”You guys really like tattoos, don’t you?”

My question had him faltering, a smile forming on his face. He had prominent cheekbones that became more defined as his expression changed.

He ran a hand over his neck that was also decorated in colorful ink. He clearly frequented shops, a nose ring on his nose and when he opened his mouth I saw a tongue ring… it had me wondering if anything else was pierced as well.

“We do,” the man next to him confirmed. I glanced over and waited for the man to move forward, the last in my hopefully complete set. Any more and I’d have to be committed.

“Mates,” Sawyer told him. Vince moved him out of the way and took his place, peach and bourbon filling the air.

“Mine too,” he confirmed, letting out an excited laugh. He was just as gorgeous as the others, his dark skin decorated in the same colorful ink. His hair was buzzed down low and his stubble was nearly as short. It looked good on him.

“So yeah, apparent—” My words were cut off as Walter stalked out looking like someone kicked his puppy. “Shit.”

“What?” Vince asked, looking around and stepping in front of me as if he needed to protect me from the older alpha when it was the other way around.

“What the fuck are you guys doing here?” Walter’s words were practically shouted and it had every one of the men standing up.

I was happy for the distraction, hoping he’d kick them out of the shop and I could pretend this morning never happened.
