Colt snorted. "Of course, you aren't. Your hands are on our omega."

I've never been one for letting men take possession over me, but hearing them call me their omega did something to my insides. Warmth spread through me and a strange sense of satisfaction. A low rumbling noise filled the air and I was horrified when I realized it was coming from me.

Sawyer smirked at that. "Well, I'd say our omega likes being called ours."

"Is that true, sunshine?" Isaac asked, leaning down so his warm breath fanned over my ear, sending a shiver down my spine. My traitorous pussy throbbed in response.

"Apparently," I muttered, letting out a breath of relief when Oaks came in a second later, wiping at his face with a towel and grinning.

"Come on, guys, I need some help setting up. Isaac, you can stay there. You two look pretty content," he said with a laugh.

I'd never been so grateful to see a beta in my life. The subject change was much needed.

When they walked away I was surrounded by the scent of cherries and almonds and that subtle hint of alpha spice that always followed any Alpha. It had been hidden before in the mix of all of them and I breathed him in without shame.

"You know we'll take this at your pace, right, sunshine?" Isaac asked. His voice was back to normal now. I didn't even have to think over my answer, I knew as soon as he said it that he was speaking the truth. I trusted them already.

"My last few years have been full of hookups," I admitted. "Protected one night stands, no strings attached. This is a whole new territory for me and strangely, I don't want to rush into it. Not that I want to hold back, either. It's… complicated."

"We've had our share of nights like that. It gets lonely on the boat with just the pack to keep you company. It's not like any of us are together," he mused.

"That's understandable."

Oddly, I didn't feel any jealousy. If someone tried to flirt with him now I'd probably rip their face off, but what happened before me was in the past. I couldn't judge them for theirs any more than I wanted them to judge me for mine.

"Do you think things will still be this smooth when the others come back?"

My question hung in the air as Isaac thought it over, hands kneading my shoulders the entire time.

"I would hope so," he said. "I don't want any animosity between us. We have to form one pack not two, we can't toss you back and forth like divorced parents. Nobody wants that."

"True, but I also don't want you guys to change your entire lives for me."

"Our lives are already changed, sunshine. What we decide to do with the winter months is going to be up in the air. I don't see you willing to take off the entire winter from the coffee shop to join us and I don't hold that against you."

"That goes both ways. I don't hold it against you that you do want to leave for the winter," I argued. "It's your job."

He chuckled. "Why do you seem more for it than against it?"

"Because I won't be that controlling omega. I don't want you guys to shift your lives around me, that's not how it should be. It's a give and take, a companionship. There's obviously more to it than this, but—" He cut me off with a squeeze.

"You're rambling, sunshine," he said gently, running his hands over my arms. "We don't have to figure it out now. We'll cross that bridge when it comes. Maybe you can come for the beginning of it and fly back. With the help at the shop now you might want to take this month off when the time comes. Plus, you might have just convinced the guys to open up a rage room."

"You're right," I sighed. "I'm working on living in the moment and that's what I'm going to do." Even as I said it, a sinking feeling settled in my gut. No matter how we looked at it, everything was going to change when the other pack joined us. Melding us into one cohesive pack would not be easy but I wasn't willing to let any of them go. Even if I hadn't admitted it out loud or even to myself before this point, they were all mine.

Even Amos.

Now that it had been a few days and I knew the extent of everything with Evrin, it was hard to hold it against him. He thought that I was the reason behind his brother's downfall, which was why I told him to think it all over before we even bothered to talk. I wasn't going to defend myself to anyone, mate or not. I simply showed them the truth and whether they chose to believe it or not it was up to them.

"Dinner awaits," Oaks announced. I was finally forced to leave my massage and stand up, feeling more relaxed than I had in forever, even if my head was in turmoil. I paused in front of Oaks, stretching up to brush a kiss over his lips.

"Thanks for doing this, I don't think any man has ever gone to these kinds of lengths for me."

He smiled even wider than before and returned the kiss, his a little more than a peck.

"Then those men are fools. I'm kind of glad that I'm the first to treat you like this. You're worth it, Serenity."
