“Thanks,” I said sweetly as I stepped up and took the plush. He didn’t look at any of us, turning his back and stacking up the pins again. His hands shook and I almost felt bad… if he hadn’t tried to cheat us.

“Prize acquired. Maybe we should tuck it into the trunk?” Oaks laughed. “I can barely see you over this thing.”

“Thanks for defending me, guys,” I said as we turned and headed right back for one of the two SUVs we’d taken. Once it was tucked away I was ready to head back in.

“Who is brave enough to do the ferris wheel with me?”

“Fuck that,” Isaac and Sawyer both said. Several of my pack looked uneasy but Oaks and Jackson were both agreeing.

“I’ve always wanted to,” Jackson said.

“Let’s go,” Oaks said. “We’ll meet the rest of you by the food trucks.”

We stopped for tickets before getting in line. Unfortunately, this one was a lot longer than the game.

"Aren't you scared to go up there?" an omega asked Oaks with a nervous giggle. She blinked up at him with her baby blues, batting her eyelashes. Between the act and her low-cut shirt she could probably have her pick of any available men around.

But she chose mine.

"No. The rest of our pack was afraid but we're excited to go," I said. She went from sweet to salty in a single breath as she turned to me. Her smile turned to a frown as they each took one of my hands.

"My bad," she said sarcastically before leaving the line completely.

"Aw, looks like our omega likes to be a bit possessive," Oaks teased, bumping his hip against mine.

"Look, she can flirt anywhere else," I said innocently, giving a shrug like it was no big deal. In reality, the wave of frustration that hit me when she tried to get close to my men, took a bit to swallow down.

Maybe the fair was a bad idea.

"Hey, none of that jealousy," Oaks said gently. "We're yours, no question. Plus, look how good everyone is getting along."

"True," I agreed before turning to Jackson. "So, Sawyer?" Jackson blinked at me, a slight red on his cheeks though he looked completely unashamed. Good.

"I mean I'm bisexual and he is exactly my type. So are you," he said. "But I won't overstep. We aren't mates."

"Chosen mates are a thing," Oaks pointed out.

"Yes," I agreed. Even if I didn't have a good past with one didn't mean they wouldn't be a good match.

"I happen to know for a fact that Sawyer is also bisexual or probably more pansexual," he mused.

We let the subject drop as they started loading up the small colorful cages that made up the ferris wheel. Each cage sat four but he let us three go in alone instead of putting a stranger inside.

Oaks pulled me next to him while Jackson sat across from us, one of his legs tucking between mine in the small space so that I was touching both of my mates.

The ferris wheel let out a loud groan as it shifted to the next group. It took us a while before we were finally moving.

Now that the sun was starting to go down, the glow of the lights and the neon signs surrounded us in a colorful glow.

"I don't think he's doing so good." Oaks's words had me turning to Jackson who had his hands gripping the side bars so hard his knuckles were white.

They told us to stay in our seats but I ignored the rules as I carefully shifted over to sit next to him. He was too afraid to move so it ended up putting me right in his lap.

My hands rested on his cheeks. "Hey, look at me." He still didn't move but his eyes shifted to mine, fear radiating from every cell in his body. "You're not alone up here. It's fine. Everything is okay. This ride is just noisy."

"Close your eyes," Oaks suggested.

Jackson snapped his eyes closed so tightly that wrinkles formed around them. I was already in his lap, so I shifted to straddle his legs, my ass resting on his knees and my arms wrapping around his waist. I put my head on his chest, hoping the gesture would offer some comfort. He couldn't exactly leave the situation now.
