"Take a deep breath," I told him. "It'll be over soon."
His breathing was quick and shallow but the tighter I held him the more he seemed to relax. Though he didn't fully calm down until we were back on the ground.
The man operating the ride gave us a look but didn't question as Oaks climbed out and offered me his hand. I pulled Jackson with me. He took a huge, heaving breath the moment he was on solid ground again.
"Nope, never again. Tried it once but fuck that." He ran away from the ride like his ass was on fire.
The guys met up with us but immediately looked concerned at Jackson's pale face and frantic hand wringing.
"Let's postpone the food and go take a walk," Isaac suggested. Silas and Amos held back, letting the other alpha lead their beta away into the crowd. They disappeared a moment later, the crush of people hiding them from view.
"He might be more of an alpha than I am," Amos joked.
"Just a different kind of alpha," I said. Isaac was protective, his presence intimidating, whereas Amos was the kind of alpha that was constantly vigilant, looking around the crowd for danger and keeping watch.
"I'm so thirsty, let's grab a drink or something while they calm down," I said, heading right for the lemonade stand. They had always been my favorite. Mom and Dad always got one for me and Ezra anytime we came to the fair.
"You guys stick with her, I'll be right back," Sawyer said, disappearing in the same direction Isaac and Jackson had.
We found two tables by each other and pulled them together so there'd be enough seating for everyone. We spread out, putting the empty seats between us.
Isaac returned a few minutes later by himself, a small smile on his face.
"Sunshine, I think you've got competition," he teased. "They're good together."
My chest warmed at the thought.
"It's no competition," I reminded him. Even if it was a joke I wanted that to be known. I'd be a hypocrite to be upset that they found solace in each other. Neither one of them would want me any less because of what they had.
"Damn, she's good," Vince said, tapping me on the nose. "What do you want to eat? I'll go grab it."
"Is that a trick question?" I asked but Oaks was already laughing, pulling Vince with him.
"Come on, we'll get one of everything. You don't pick just one thing at a fair, dude."
"When does the music start?" Isaac asked, glancing around.
“The band tonight is good, I’ve heard them before,” I said as I turned the small table sign around so they could read. “They do a mix of rock and country. Sounds odd but it somehow works.”
“I’m just going to book us some rooms in town, it’ll be too late to head back,” Amos said, pulling out his phone and getting to work. Most of the people coming in for this were locals and the people running the fair all had campers in the back, so there should be plenty of rooms available.
“Found a suite,” he said after a few minutes.
Sawyer and Jackson made it back at the same time Vince and Oaks started filling the table with food.
“You okay?” I asked as Jackson and Sawyer took the seats next to me, putting Jackson between the two of us.
“I’m better,” he confirmed. “Sorry, apparently I didn’t know I was afraid of heights.” His sheepish look had me putting a hand on his thigh, my fingers brushing Sawyer’s as he did the same. We met eyes and the heat built between us without saying a word. Apparently, forming a pack meant acting like teenagers in heat.
Every act was sexual, tension forever building between us.
“Fuck, you have to stop.” My eyes glanced down at his jeans when Jackson protested, his cock pushing against them.
“Tonight I don’t,” I argued. “Someone better be fucking me tonight.”
“Oh, we can all handle that demand,” Sawyer promised, Isaac and Silas both humming in agreement.
“We’ve got a room, we can always leave early,” Isaac said, but my stomach rumbling ended that line of thought. I knew damn well that the moment we had our bodies rubbing together on the dance floor tonight, the fight would be over and the sex would be twice as good.
