You will be mine again.

"Again," I breathed out in horror. My eyes flickered to Amos, Silas, and Jackson. Their faces were pale and shock had set in. Amos stepped away, phone already pressed to his ear. I knew he was calling the facility. There was now no doubt that this was Evrin.

"How would he have found out?" Silas questioned, shaking his head. He didn't want to believe it. "There's no way."

"I'm not sure," I admitted, "but who else could it be?"

The detective had watched us until then. "Who are we talking about?" he had a notebook in hand now, ready to take notes.

"My ex. Their brother," I explained, giving Evrin's full name, Jackson adding in where he had been.

"I'll look into this. I'm going to send a car here to watch over the place," Grady said, handing over a business card to Isaac. "My number. Call if you see or hear anything."

"Thank you," my alpha said, shaking the detective's hand. The poor guy winced and shook it out afterward, flexing his fingers.

"Isaac," I growled, swatting at his arm. Isaac gave a sigh and offered a weak apology.

"It's fine," Grady said with a glare. "I'll call soon."

We watched the detective drive away. Amos was still on his call, grim expression on his face. When he walked up, I knew it was bad news.

"They told me to stop calling. He's no longer a patient and they couldn't give me further information as I'd been removed from his emergency contacts. The most I got out of her was the program is only a few days long at most. So, he's been free for a while and they lied for him," he concluded.

"Shit," Silas cursed, "how did we not see this?"

"I think he overheard me," Amos admitted. "When he was unconscious, I kind of vented everything about Serenity and how wrong he was, that she was our mate. He was out cold though."

My stomach turned. "It's the only explanation we have."

"We need a picture of him," Vince said. "I have no idea who we're looking for."

Jackson tapped away on his phone before pulling up a recent picture.

"I'm assuming he's shaved by now," he said as he turned the phone around to show the other guys.

"That guy was at the harbor today," Isaac said. His voice was so deep at this point that it sent shivers down my spine. I'd hate to be Evrin if he was stupid enough to show up.

Maybe there was a reason that fate gave me eight mates. It was to ward off the crazy man stalking me.

"I need my laptop," Jackson said, heading inside and we all followed.

"We have an appointment at 2:00 to look at a few houses in town," Isaac told them. "You have until then."

Jackson glanced at the clock, giving a firm nod. "That's all I need."

The rest of us sat around, taking showers and cleaning up the place while we waited. It wasn't long before he was closing his laptop and looking at us.

"There's a paper trail of purchases starting near the hospital and leading straight to Lockwood. He's bought coffee from Raven's Nest three times."

"Where is he staying?" I asked, glancing at the door like it might burst open.

"There's no hotel purchases. I'm not positive," he admitted.

"So, he could be here," Silas reasoned. Amos moved to the door, blocking it with his body as if he had the same thought I did. Maybe we should have kept our previous motel rooms. I guess time away left us a bit too relaxed.

Now the fear was twice as bad. Fuck. We couldn't keep going like this.

"All the more reason to go to this appointment. Let's go," Isaac said. We'd be early but not a single one of us cared as we piled into our cars and made our way across town to the real estate office Dean found for us.
