TRIGGER

Get Me to a Hospital

Itap Ringer on the shoulder and nod for him to follow me. He does the same to Ghost as I head towards the kitchen. “What the fuck?” Ghost grumbles when we get close and smell smoke.

Pushing the swinging door open, we’re met with smoke coming from a large box on the counter that’s on fire. I cough over the smoke and use my hand to cover my nose. This costume doesn’t have any fucking sleeves to use.

“What the fuck!” Ghost roars, heading over towards the counter.

“Fuck man, be careful! That’s the shit that fucked my face up,” I shout as Ghost continues forward. Luckily, we have a fire extinguisher on the wall, so I grab it and spray it at the box.

Everyone backs away from the counter until the fire is out. We carefully step forward and examine it. “Who the fuck started this?” Ringer mumbles.

“I don’t know, but something’s going on here. Shut this shit down. There’s too many outsiders here. I knew we never should have fucking done this with all the shit going on,” Ghost barks.

Bones, Tank and Reaper barge through the door, waving their hands at the smoke. “What’s going on?”

“Came in here and that box was on fire. I don’t know what the fuck’s going on, but I’m going to find out.” I point towards the charred box on the counter.

Ringer opens up the box and fumbles inside for a minute before stumbling back a step. “Fuck!”

He holds up a paper that reads,“See how easy it was for us to get into your clubhouse? Next time we won’t miss you, Ringer.”

“You just got out of fucking prison, man. Who the fuck did you piss off already?” Ghost roars.

“I haven’t done a damn thing!” Ringer shouts back defensively.

“This isn’t the time,” Reaper says. “The clubhouse obviously isn’t fucking safe right now for our families to be here.”

Ghost pushes past his dad and VP and rushes out the door. I follow behind him as we all head into the main room towards the women.

As soon as I’m next to Pebbles and Henry again, I grab onto her arm. “We need to get out of here, now.”

Ghost grabs Emery from Maria and runs towards the door. He shoves the front door and is met with resistance. He turns back around. “Door won’t open,” he shouts.

I take off for the back door and use all my strength to push the door with no luck. I kick the door in frustration and hear the people behind me chattering in confusion. Henry runs behind me, pawing at my legs. I pat his head trying to calm him down.

“Will someone please tell me what the hell is going on!” Maria yells over the people.

“We need to get the fuck outside!” Ghost turns to a scared Brit and lets her take Emery from him.

“Who’s to say that whoever started that fire and left that message isn’t out there waiting for us to try and get out?” Reaper says as the voice of reason.

Ghost is usually the voice of reason, so to see him visibly shaken is alarming. I’m almost determined it’s due to the little girl still soundly sleeping in her mom’s arms next to him. I step forward and Bull steps up next to me. “We can try the window in the office,” Bull chimes in.

“I can fit through there,” I offer.

Henry paws at my leg again.

Small hands wrap around my arm from behind me and I turn, finding a pale faced Pebbles. “What’s wrong, Red?”

“You can’t go out there, Trigger.”

“Have faith in me, babe. I have my gun.” I smile at her, trying to lighten the mood.

“You can’t go out there, because I’m almost positive I’m in labor.”
