Her mouth fell open. Well… Okay. Guess she would be sleeping in his bed.

FIVE

KADE

He took her bag into his bedroom and set it on the chair in the corner of the room. His house was nothing special, but it was his, and when he needed some solitude away from his MC brothers, that’s where he was. He spent about half his time staying at the club and half his time at his house, but with Remi there, he would be there all the time. He wouldn’t be leaving her side until he figured out what the hell was going on. And figuring that out would be more of a challenge since he’d promised not to tell anyone about it.

His mind went back to her pink bedroom, and the more he thought about it, he was pretty sure she was a Little. But why had she threatened to hurt him if he told anyone she liked pink? Most of the men that belonged to the MC were Daddies. Hell, even her dad had been a Daddy to her mom before she’d passed away. None of the men kept it a secret about who they were, so why was she so worried about revealing who she was if that’s what she was?

Knowing it was actually possible she was a Little was going to be torture. He’d already thought about Remi nonstop for the past four years, but because she was Rock’s daughter, he’d always known she was off-limits, and it had been a little easier to keep his distance when the only side he knew of her was the dark, prickly side. But now… all he wanted to do was claim her as his and Daddy the hell out of her. She didn’t seem to feel the same way, even though it had been pretty damn cute that she’d threatened him bodily harm if he called her princess in front of anyone.

As he turned around to leave his room, he stopped in his tracks when he found Remi standing in the doorway, looking up at him with her dark lined eyes. He wondered what she would look like with her face scrubbed free of all her dark makeup. Then again, she always did a good job on her makeup, and he knew she would be gorgeous either way.

“Make yourself at home. Give me a list of groceries and I’ll order them to be delivered. Do not leave this house without me, understand? Until I know what the fuck is going on, you’re on lockdown with me, okay?”

She pulled her bottom lip between her teeth as she stared up at him, and he had to force himself not to reach up and pluck that plump lip free with his thumb.

“I don’t have a shift at The Hangout today or tomorrow, but I’ll have to go to work after that. And you have to work too.”

He hated that she worked in a bar. Not that there was anything wrong with the job itself, he just didn’t like that she was there getting hit on all the time. The thought of it made him want to punch something. And he knew it happened all the time because he’d seen it happen when he’d been there with some of the guys before.

“I’ll take a few days off. You will too. We need to stay low while I try to figure this out, but Remi, I need to tell Steele at least. You know he won’t judge you for being Little.”

Her shoulders sagged and she walked over to his bed and sat on the edge, making his cock thicken in his jeans. The sight of her on his bed was too damn inviting. He had to look away and silently count to ten to get himself under control.

“I’m not Little.”

If she’d kept her eyes on him or not lowered her voice when she’d said it, he might have believed her.

“Yes, you are. Don’t lie to me.”

Shooting her gaze up to his, she stared at him for a long moment before she let out a deep sigh. “You’re such a jerk sometimes,” she murmured. “People will think I’m a fraud. I mean, I wear all black but I secretly love pink. They’ll think I’m some sort of freak.”

He walked over to the bed and sat down beside her. “No one is going to think that, Remi. There are so many people out there who are totally different day to day from how they are when they’re Little. There is no right or wrong way to be Little. I’ve met women who are high-powered businesswomen and when they get home from work, they strip off that side of them and become the Littlest Littles there are.”

Her eyes narrowed at him. “How do you know them?”

The question surprised him. Why did she care? “Are you jealous, Princess?”

Dropping her mouth open, she scoffed. “What? No!”

He grinned and leaned his shoulder into hers. “And here, all this time, I thought you hated me.”

She froze and looked up at him. “I never hated you. I thought you didn’t like me. That you thought I was just some dumb kid.”

Furrowing his eyebrows, he shook his head. “I haven’t seen you as a kid for years, Remi. I think it was your twenty-first birthday when I realized you were definitely not a kid anymore.”

Her eyes widened as she stared up at him, and before he realized what he was doing, he lowered his face so they were only inches apart. She let out a soft sigh, pulling him back to reality. Shit. He needed to be careful. She was his friend’s daughter.

Leaning back, he cleared his throat and stood. “I’m going to go find something to make us for dinner. Unpack and get comfortable.”

Then he hightailed it out of his bedroom before he lost control.

SIX

REMI

Her body was buzzing as she watched Kade leave the room. Had he just been about to kiss her? No, of course not. He didn’t like her like that. She was way younger than him. He was just helping her because she was a family member of the MC. It wasn’t like they were even friends.
