"Ew, that's my fiancee you're talking about."

"Girl, please, I can look at the menu even if I'm not ordering off it. Beside, he's all yours. Now, that sexy blond that came with Marcus. I'd sure like to take him for a test drive. Maybe I can talk him into sneaking away during the reception," she threw the words over her shoulder, stopping at a door.

Bridget barked out a laugh. "If you mean Donovan, then unless you're into giving up all control I'm not sure that's a good idea."

“If he's a good fuck and makes me orgasm, he can control me any way he wants," Jackie said.

I groaned in embarrassment. There was nothing I wanted more than to bury my face in my hands, but that would ruin my makeup. "Can we just go inside, please, so I can get ready? I don't want to risk Gareth seeing me before the ceremony."

Jackie opened the door and the three of us scuttled in. I drew in a sharp breath at seeing my dress hanging from the standing frame, the sunlight casting it in an ethereal glow. The beads sparkled off the light and the empire waistline was tucked before flaring out slightly at the thighs. It was a flawless trumpet style dress, and I'd fallen instantly in love with the cap sleeves and the lace.

I'd forgotten how gorgeous it was. It had taken five different trips to the bridal shop and at least fifteen different dresses before I'd finally found the perfect one.My patience had been tested like nothing else, but I'd refused to settle for a dress I didn't absolutely adore.

"All right, let's get you into this thing. We're running a little behind schedule here."

I squeaked and hurriedly put my bag down before taking my clothes off. I quickly changed from my daily wear bra into the strapless one. Then, with a carefulness I hadn't expected, both Jackie and Bridget helped me into my wedding dress. Jackie situated my veil on my head using the clip and then fluffed and fiddled with it until it lay to her satisfaction down my neck and back. She came around to my front and she and Bridget stared at me. I smoothed my hands down my waist and glanced at my two best friends nervously.

“Oh my god, Livvie,” Bridget sucked in a breath and her eyes teared. “You're absolutely stunning. Gareth is going to lose his shit when he sees you."

"You think so?" I bit my lip in uncertainty.

"Hell yeah, woman," Jackie added, her eyes scanning me up and down. "I'd do you."

A bubble of laughter escaped. "You are a mess. But thank you." I looked between the two of them. "I love you guys. You know that, right?"

"Bring it in, bitches." Bridget gestured with her hands for a huddle. She and Jackie both wrapped their arms around me in a group hug. I had no idea what I'd do without them. They were my best friends. Releasing each other, we all took a step back, waving our hands in front of our eyes to try and dry up the tears that had threatened.

There was a knock on the door. Gareth's mom stuck her head around it and her eyes landed on me. They lit up. I waved her in. She oohed and awed and kissed me on the cheek. "Oh, Livvie, you look so beautiful."

"Thank you, Brenda."

"I hope after today you might consider calling me Mom," she said.

Damn it, there were the tears again. At this rate, I was going to look like a drunken raccoon. "I'd like that." I spoke around the pebbles in my throat.

"Now, are you ready to get married?"

I nodded. I was more than ready. "Yes, ma'am."

"Shit, let me throw my dress on quick." Bridget ripped her clothes off, not caring who was in the room before sliding the bridesmaid dress over her head and tugging it into place. She did a quick once over in the mirror, smoothed down her straight hair, pinched her cheeks and pivoted. "I'm ready."

* * *

The ceremony waseverything I'd imagined it to be. Although if anyone asked me about it, I couldn't tell them a thing. I'd only had eyes for Gareth and him for me. The crowd had disappeared into the cloudy, blurry mass surrounding us. I knew they were there, but I hadn't been able to bring anything into focus except the man who was now my husband.

We sat at the head table, a plate of food in front of us, but not really eating. Silverware on glass rang out and Gareth turned to me and we kissed again. I'd lost track of how many times the sound had rang out so far. My gaze kept drifting down to my ring, and I admired how beautiful it was. I was a married woman. I'd never been happier.

"Congratulations, you two." Gareth's aunt, Gladys, stood behind me and hugged us with an arm wrapped around one of our shoulders.

"Thank you," we both said.

She moved on while periodically more people stopped by our table offering their felicitations. I pushed away the plate of now cold food, knowing I wouldn't be able to eat anymore. The catering staff gliding effortlessly in and out, removing plates off tables while everyone continued chatting and drinking from the open bar.

Finally, the DJ turned on the mic, which let out a high-pitched squeal. "Good evening ladies and gentleman. Can we give it up for Mr. and Mrs. Brown?"

Cheers and whistles rang out from the crowd and all eyes were on us.

"We're going to start the night off with the first dance between the married couple. Gareth and Livvie, if you all want to come on out to the floor?"
