“No, you’re—”

“Can’t have it both ways. If you being a Dom, and a sadistic one at that, makes you a bad person, then by default I’m one too. Because I want you to do all those things to me. I want to give up my power, my choices. In fact, I don’t just want it, I need it. Without this, I fall apart.” She gestured around the room.

Ilias sat up, then leaned back, slumping until he could rest his head on the back of the couch.

Josslyn shifted to kneel facing backward, elbows on the back of the couch. “It’s really sweet that you’re this stressed out about it.” She leaned to the side so she was looking down at him.

“Sweet?”

“Yes. If you were super excited about the idea of raping me, I might be a little nervous. But how much of that is about the word ‘rape’? Use a different word for the same idea—forced to have sex at a time, and with a partner, you didn’t choose—and it’s something that can and does happen at BDSM clubs. Because, before it happens, the sub willingly yielded the power to make that choice, to their Dom.”

“But at the same time, some aspect of the situation you described might be on the sub’s hard limit list.”

“Very true. And as you already stated, if that were the case, you wouldn’t do it.” She leaned down bringing her face within a foot of his. “If you hate this idea, then I don’t want to do it either. If you have a somewhat weird Dom hang-up about putting it on your hard limit list, I’ll put it on mine.”

“Did you just offer to top from the bottom?”

“If you’re more comfortable with that, then absolutely I did.”

“Don’t you see?” He sat up forcing her to lean back so they didn’t knock foreheads. “I’m not opposed to the idea, and that’s the problem.”

“I’m going to bring this full circle and point out once again that rape is about power, not sex. We are both people who enjoy the power exchange, so it makes complete sense that we also enjoy the idea of a more…” She waved one hand in the air, as if searching for a phrase. “Forceful power exchange.”

“Forceful power exchange,” Ilias said slowly.

“We could scribble out rape and put that term in its place. Though then I think it would be the ‘F’ people’s problem.”

Ilias turned to face her, pulling one leg up onto the seat of the couch. His knee bumped against hers.

Josslyn leaned in, and he did the same. It felt like they were conspiring, planning something illicit.

“Ilias?” she whispered.

“Yes, Josslyn?”

“I’d really like it if you raped me.”

He closed his eyes and shook his head in disbelief at this utterly surreal conversation.

Josslyn pinched his arm.

“Ouch.” He jerked back, staring at her in surprise.

“Oh, don’t be such a baby.”

“I’m not being a baby.”

“Then are you going to do it?” Her brows rose and her lips were twitching as if she suppressed a smile.

He must’ve waited too long to speak, because that almost smile disappeared and she looked away.

“Actually, you’re right. Let’s not mess around with this.”

“Is this something you want?” he asked.

She flinched, physically pulling back.

“Josslyn?”
