His words poked at my heart.

“Iamsorry,” I said softly. “My choice was never to hurt you.”

He kissed my forehead.

“I know. It was to spare yourself the fear and worry you already feel for your brother and his children. How is Rachel?”

“A mess,” I said. “Neither of us imagined not being able to contact them eventually.”

“Matt said there’s fuel left at Whiteman. They were using a small plane to look for me when I didn’t return. We can use it to reestablish bases. We will build a network of communities like these here, where humans and fey co-exist, until we reach the coast and can send a message to your brother.”

I ran my fingers over Molev’s chest.

“I like that idea. I have another one you might like.”

I kissed his chest then an inch lower, slowly working my way down his abs.

His fingers threaded through my hair, adding that kick of dominance I craved from him.

“I like this idea too,” he said.

CHAPTERTWENTY-FIVE

Spent and shaking,I collapsed on top of Molev. He kissed my head and picked me up as he stood with me still impaled. Instead of heading toward the shower, he pinned me to a wall and started thrusting into me. I panted as I met each one with growing fervor.

He bathed my insides yet again after a few minutes, detonating another orgasm for me. I moaned and fell against him, sweaty and weak.

“The sun will be setting soon,” I panted. “The others will come for us if we are late.”

With the hell of the last few days past us, Emily had organized a get-together. Our invitation had come via Fallor. He’d politely waited outside the house until after my first O then let himself inside and called out to Molev while I caught my breath.

Life in Tolerance would take some getting used to that way. I’d need to get used to Molev’s insatiable sex drive too.

After our invite, there hadn’t been any interruptions, and Molev had gotten his day with me, just like he’d wanted. I had to admit, it was pretty magical getting his undivided attention like I had. However, I wasn’t sure I could survive 365 days of it. The man needed distractions, or I’d never leave the bedroom.

So, Emily’s party was a welcome reprieve…if I could walk.

Molev chuckled at the way I spasmed when he finally removed me from his still-hard cock in the shower. I insisted on washing myself so we didn’t start anything and smirked at the hint of disgruntlement in his expression.

The hunger in his eyes when he watched me dress had me hurrying. We left earlier than we needed to, but that was okay.

He held the umbrella over us as we walked down the street together. The rain was already working miracles, erasing the horror of what had happened, and I inhaled deeply, smelling spring.

“A new season is starting,” I said. “We should talk about where else we want to plant those seeds.”

Molev grunted and looked at the high wall surrounding Tolerance.

“The wall hides your trees. If our trees grow here, they would be seen for miles.”

“Is that a good thing or a bad thing?” I asked.

“That is not something I can answer now,” he said.

I nodded. “Until we know what’s left out there, it’s hard to say if a giant tree at our doorstep would be a good thing or a bad thing. Although, those trees will take time to grow to the size they were in the caves.” I glanced at him. “I think we should plant one in the open field here, no matter what. Something to mark that this is your home too.”

He looked down at me, love showing in his gaze, and I smiled.

“Aw! Look at you two being all cute and coupley,” Roni called from behind us.
