I turned and watched her jog our way, a hood up to protect her from the rain.

“Where’s Brog?” I asked.

She shrugged, looking way too innocent.

I stopped walking. “What did you do?”

“Nothing he didn’t have coming. I’m sure he’ll catch up with us soon.” She hooked her arm through mine.

“How’s the sex been?” she asked. “Off the charts as usual?”

“Is he still not giving up the goods?” I asked.

“Not yet. But he’s close to snapping. I can feel it.” Her grin was a little crazed.

“So, Mya mentioned supplies are getting low,” I said, changing the subject. “I think a group is heading out in the morning. I was thinking of going with to find out what level of infected we’re dealing with now.”

“Count me in,” she said. “I heard through the fey-vine that there are still a lot of them out there. That’s why Matt and June get a heavier escort when they go, not because the fey are just looking for new vag-vaults to crack.

“Speaking of vag-vaults, have you seen Katie around?” she asked.

I chuckled and shook my head. “I saw her yesterday. Ben caught her trying to get someone else to take her over the wall when she was done driving to the pit.”

“Bet that was fun to watch. Sucks I missed it.”

“I’m sure we’ll see her tonight.”

Roni rubbed her hands together. “Good. I need some distraction.”

She speculated where the group would be going for supplies the next day as we made our way to Emily’s place. Hannah opened the door on the first knock.

“Welcome and come on in,” she said, waving us inside while Molev shook out the umbrella.

I saw Katie was already there, talking to James and Mary. Mya was by the food set out on the table, sampling with Angel. Shax held fey court with baby Daisy in the kitchen. All those men gathered around that tiny baby was admittedly adorable.

“Can I get you anything to drink?” Emily asked.

“I’m fine. Thanks,” I said.

“Got any whiskey?” Roni asked. “I’d kill for an actual drink.”

James perked up at that and waved her over. I watched him slip a flask from his jacket and pass it to her.

“Having a hard time, dear?” Mary asked.

“I’d like to have a harder time, but Brog still isn’t cooperating,” Roni said.

Katie cringed, and Mary hooted her laughter.

“There is not enough therapy chocolate in the world for what’s coming,” Hannah said. “I wish I still drank.”

“Hannah.” Merdon, who’d been ogling the baby with the rest of them, stared at Hannah with warning in his eyes.

“I said, ‘I wish,’ not that I will.” She rolled her eyes and took my arm, steering me to the table. “I’m seriously considering jumping on the baby wagon just so he stops helicoptering me.”

Emily snorted. “Like that would change anything. There are too many hands waiting to hold babies. Now, if you wait a few years, you might get your wish.”

“What’s going to change in a few years?” she asked.
