“I will ask Hannah.”

“Hannah?” I asked, starting to get the picture. “Did she give you the name?”

“Yes. She said it is the most human name she knows. I wanted a human one so females will be less afraid of me.”

“I don’t think your name has anything to do with their fears. And their fears are their problem to fix, not yours.”

The words were barely out of my mouth when Molev jumped on top of the cab with us.

“Ben,” he said a second before he hugged him with three solid thumps on his back.

I internally winced on Ben’s behalf.

“I found females,” Molev said. “Nice ones who want to live with us.”

The fey’s smile grew even larger, prominently displaying his very pointed canines. He grabbed Molev by the shoulders.

“Will you allow me to meet all of them before we return?”

Molev chuckled. “You may speak to as many as you wish.”

“Maybe we should hold off the introductions until we’re somewhere safer,” I said.

Molev glanced over at me and nodded.

“Ben, this is Andie. She is my wife.”

It felt like the world fractured beneath my feet, and I was free-falling into hell.

“Wife?” I echoed.

Molev’s gaze locked with mine. His head tipped almost imperceptibly to the right, and the joy started to fade from his eyes.

“No,” I snapped. “You don’t get to get mad at me for having a panic attack when you spring stuff on me like that. You’re going to be understanding that I need time to process and not push me about retreating, or I’m going to push you off this damn truck.”

“She sounds like Mya when she’s angry with Drav,” Ben said. “Mom says the baby hormones are making her extra moody.”

Molev’s attention ripped from mine.

“Baby?”

“Yes. Cassie had Mya take a test. We cannot hear the heart like Angel’s baby, but Cassie promises it is there. It makes Mya sick and sleepy. Mom said that is normal.”

Ben’s gaze flicked to me. “Are you growing Molev’s baby?”

I turned my back on them both and climbed down off the top of the truck. My co-pilot watched me closely as I took my seat and closed the door.

“This one seems more chatty than Molev,” she said.

“Yeah.”

She reached over and patted my hand.

“You okay to drive?”

“Yeah.”

Molev and Ben left the top of our vehicle, and Molev’s voice crackled over the radio.
