“If any of their partners show up, please ask them for a sample as well. Bring Molev’s down when he’s finished. I’m going to pack a kit and ask directions to Angel’s house.” The doctor disappeared.

“I think our work here is done,” Mya said. “Let us know if you guys need anything.”

She started for the door and paused. “What happened during the trials?”

“The researchers were trying to create a vaccine using Molev’s blood. However, the results weren’t good. His blood doesn’t just contain immunity but the infection as well. So it changed the volunteers, giving them grey spots first before they turned infected. It took three days, on average, from start to finish.”

Mya stared at me before facing Drav. “I need a nap.”

Cassie looked at me as she and Drav left.

“There was no easy way to say that,” I said.

“No, there wasn’t. I think that’s why so many people lie. It’s easier than the truth, but lies rarely do any good.”

“I’m Andie, by the way,” I said, realizing I’d never actually introduced myself. “If you don’t need us for anything else, I wouldn’t mind leaving and getting something to eat.”

“Nice to meet you, Andie. I think we’re fine for now. Go get some rest. From what I’ve heard, the last few weeks haven’t been easy on you.”

“Nothing’s been easy for any of us since the earthquakes.”

She nodded and walked us to the door. I’d just gotten my jacket on when someone knocked.

“That’ll be my first patient,” she said, opening the door to a fey carrying a woman.

“Heard you need my blood and Solin’s sperm. What kind of science experiments are we up to these days?” the woman asked.

“Welcome back,” the fey said to Molev, who was standing just behind me. “This is my wife, Brooke. She’s pregnant.”

Molev’s hands settled on my shoulders.

“Congratulations, Solin. Care for her well.”

The fey nodded at the same time the woman said, “Oh, he does. Trust me.”

We let the pair pass then hurried out the door as Brooke started asking questions about whether help was allowed when filling the cup.

“News really travels fast here,” I commented.

“So do we.” Molev knocked my feet out from under me and caught me in his arms.

I scowled up at him. “You could just ask.”

He grunted and started running with me. The house that he turned toward was like any other. Only, inside, it reminded me more of the house on base. All the homey touches were missing.

He knocked the door shut with his foot, put me down, and started peeling clothes off of me. The impatience in his moves stopped all the background thoughts in my head. Molev became my complete focus.

He caught my face between his hands.

“How hungry are you, Andie?” he asked.

I knew what answer he wanted from me and considered denying him. But the heat in his gaze and the urgency of his movements had my core clenching and agreeing with him that I wasn’tthathungry.

“It can wait,” I said.

“Good, because I can’t.”

Squatting, he pulled my pants and underwear down in one tug. Hands on my ass, he pulled me forward and slicked his tongue through my folds. I tipped as he fell backward. Fast reaction time saved me from face-planting on the floor as he kept my thighs pinned to his ears. His tongue speared deep as I straightened, and his hands lifted me just enough so I could ride his face as he devoured me.
