“You can.”

“How?”

“Just say the word.I am yours, Andie, as much as you are mine.”

He closed the distance between us and lightly brushed his lips against mine.I swallowed hard at the electric jolt that shot through me at the contact. The need to feel something good brought my hand to his cheek.

He made a tortured sound and captured my hand, pressing it more firmly against his skin.I knew kissing him would create more problems than I wanted to deal with.Emotional entanglements.Distractions neither of us could afford. But I wanted to know what it would be like to be kissed by someone like him.And not the gentle version of him either.

So, I opened my mouth and nipped his bottom lip.

He froze for a second then jerked back to look at me.

“Too much?”I asked.

“Not nearly enough.”

His fingers dug into the back of my head as his mouth crashed against mine.I welcomed his aggression and dominance, holding back at the first exploratory sweep of his tongue. He growled low and cupped my ass with his other hand, lifting me higher and giving himself better access to my mouth.Wrapping my arms around his neck, I angled my head and started kissing him back.

He wasn’t gentle or teasing.Every ounce of his hunger was poured into the bruising kiss, and I loved it.Need coursed through me.That itch that I loved to scratch with the right person grew more insistent.I knew I needed to stop this insanity, but at the same time, I didn’t want it to end.

With Molev, there wouldn’t be any give-and-take between two people. He would take and give what he wanted, and I would just need to hold on for dear life during the process. And as tempting as that prospect was, it also terrified me.

So, I turned my head, tearing my mouth from his as I gasped for air.

His lips drifted down my neck, nipping, licking, and kissing all at once and sending more of the wrong signals to my core.

“Molev, stop,” I managed.

He did, but he didn’t release me.I could feel his heavy gaze on my averted face as we both caught our breath.

“Did I hurt you?”he finally asked, his fingers gently caressing my scalp.

“No.”

“Did you like it?”

I turned my head to meet his gaze.“I liked it—all of it—a lot.”

“Then why did you tell me to stop?”

No censure laced the question, only open confusion.

“Saving what’s left of the world has to come first.”

He studied me for a long moment.“What I feel for you is the only reason what’s left might be worth saving.”

I swallowed hard again.

“I’m too tired to make smart decisions,” I said.“Can we talk about this when we wake up?”

He exhaled heavily as he briefly set his forehead to mine then lowered me to the floor. On my own two feet again, I looked up at him.

“I’m not trying to tease you or lead you on.”

“That is disappointing. But perhaps someday, you will try, and we’ll both enjoy it.”

My stomach flipped at the promise in his eyes.
