Several scenarios ran through my mind, and I couldn’t bring myself to hate any of them.
“And what role is that?”I asked as Roni moved away from us.
“You waiting for me somewhere safe while I deal with the things that might harm what I need more than anything else in this world.”
I tried not to let his words get to me, but they did.They stoked the flames of my own need, which felt similar to his, based on what was pressing into my back.
“Good.Then you’ll understand how I feel when you’re out there, risking yourself.”
His lips brushed that place behind my ear, and I shivered.He rumbled and kissed the side of my neck.My pulse picked up, and I fought not to lean back into his touch.
“There’s a difference between retreating and discretion,” I said, fighting not to sound breathless.“I’d like to postpone this level of affection until we’re on our own.”
He turned me in his arms.The feel of his fingers in my hair, paired with the hand on my ass, robbed me of a good portion of my higher reasoning.
“What does it matter if we are alone or not?”he asked.“Does it change how you feel for me or how I feel for you?”
“Nope.However, this type of affectionate display can make other people feel uncomfortable.Consider it a cultural thing.”
“A cultural or an Andie thing?”He tipped my head back.“Roni looks like she’s enjoying this very much.So do many others.”He ducked his head and started kissing the column of my throat.“Are you enjoying this?”
“Molev, you need to think with your brain and stop letting desire rule your thoughts.When you—”
“You only wish to retreat,” he said before nipping my skin.The jolt of desire fueled my need to make him listen to reason before I lost all sense of mine.I grabbed a handful of his hair and pulled, but not in the sexy way he did to me.
He grunted and eased back enough to frown at me.
“Listen for two seconds.If anyone is looking to control you, you’re showing them how right now.You’re painting a target on me when you do stuff like this in the open.If it’s intentional, fine.If it’s not, then stop.”
His expression darkened as he leaned in.
“You are mine.”
“Great.Fine.I’m yours.And they’re going to know what to take away from you when you don’t do what they want.”
“You misunderstand.You’re mine.No one will take you from me.”
His lips crashed onto mine, and he kissed me savagely.I lost myself in it so thoroughly that when he pulled back, I realized I had my legs wrapped around his waist and was hanging onto his shoulders for dear life.
“I need to eat and rest before dark,” he said, starting to walk…with me still clinging to him.“You will stay with me.”
“You’re already all set up in here,” Roni said from behind me.“And don’t worry.No red sauce in the MRE.Enjoy.”
A second later, Molev walked into the field tent, and the flap closed behind us.
“Are you going to put me down?”I asked.
His answer was to kiss me until I forgot my own name.Dazed, I blinked up at him when he finally put me down.He brushed his fingers over my cheek as he studied me.
“This is what I wanted.What I hunger for.You looking at me like you want to touch me as badly as I want to touch you.”
Not thinking clearly, I reached out and palmed his hard length through his pants.He hissed out a breath and captured that hand.Instead of pulling it away, he pressed harder.
“Take care, Andie.I understand kissing you in front of others does not upset you.But I know stripping you bare and feasting on your body while they listen outside these thin walls will not be acceptable to you.”
“Are you sure?”I started to move my hand.
I was on my back a second later, his large body pressing me into one of the cots that had been set up.
