“Some clean clothes if you want.Patrick said we’ll be here for a while, so I was going to wash what I have.Want me to wash yours too?”

I hesitated.

“Riot gear goes over anything,” she said.

Sighing, I exchanged dirty for clean.

“Thanks.”

“You got it.Now go help Molev pick somewhere to sleep. He’s being weird about picking a bed.”

The way she grinned made me wonder if she’d tried inserting herself in a bed with him.

I found him in the hallway, glancing into the two bedrooms.A king-sized bed waited in one room.Tom and Mateo were already passed out on it, sleeping back-to-back.

The other room had two twin beds.

“The smaller beds will hold you,” I said softly.

He grunted but didn’t make any move to claim a bed.Not sure why he was hesitating and too tired to care, I entered the room. With my towel in place, I slipped on the briefs, which were laughably loose, and then the shirt.Once I knew I was covered, I tugged the towel free and used it to dry my shoulder-length hair.I could feel Molev watching me as I tossed that to the floor and pulled back the covers.

“Still didn’t make up your mind?”Roni asked, entering the room.

I glanced over my shoulder at Molev. He moved closer to me and my bed as Roni slid under the covers of the other one and patted the space in front of her.

“Offer is still open.”

His gaze remained locked on me.Though his expression gave nothing away, I felt pretty confident he was silently begging me to share my bed.

“You can bunk with me,” I said.“No sex, and you sleep against the wall.”

I got into the bed, staying near the edge.Roni and I didn’t have to wait long to see what he’d do.Holding his towel in place, he carefully eased himself behind me.

Roni grinned and winked at me before closing her eyes.

Molev moved slightly behind me, and his exhales gently tickled my cheek.I closed my eyes, feeling oddly comforted by him lying behind me.

“Incoming!”

Katie’s yell startled me from the cusp of sleep.Disoriented, I bolted upright.

The bed behind me shifted, and a weight knocked me back down.As I stared at the tight, grey ass blocking my view of the doorway, my brain was still trying to figure out what was going on.Especially when Katie stepped into the room, took one look at Molev, and screamed.

She bolted the wrong way and face-planted into the half-opened door.

“Oh my God,” Roni breathed.

I glanced her way and saw she was sitting up and staring wide-eyed at Molev.

Katie rubbed her head and took off down the hall.

“That can’t be real,” Roni said, drawing my attention again.

I glanced at Molev as his hands covered his front.

“I will remove the infected,” he said, striding out of the room as I sat up again.

Roni flopped back onto the mattress, her face flushed.
