“I realize my sealed fate won’t let me escape my destiny. Thus before I turn, I wish to have another baby.”

What in the unexpected turn of events was this? “I’m sure you don’t need a lesson in Sex Ed., but it’s not like you can swoosh a wand and puff out comes a baby.”

“No, I want more than that. I want to see how your belly grows. I want to see our baby’s birth. I want to be one of the first to hold our sweet child in my arms. Whenever it may happen.”

“It’s a good thing you opened the discussion now, as vampires cannot have children.”

“Then I believe it’s time to start now,” he said and jumped on top of me.

He definitely didn’t need Sex Ed. lessons.

Chapter 23

From Gabriel’s perspective, it was as if I went for a stroll (albeit a sorrowful one) and returned right in time for supper. But from mine, it felt like I haven’t seen him for hundreds of years. Though my foray into Gabriel’s future made me appreciate him so much more, for I knew the lengths he would go to be with me. At the same time, gratitude encompassed me when I realized we would get through the same events together.

Now basking in his gentle caresses, I discovered what serenity truly meant. The freedom of enjoying the presence of the one I loved knowing our biggest threat ceased to exist. While he lay on top of me, I cupped his face with one hand. “If you only knew what you’ve been through just so we could be together now.”

“If necessary, I would do it again.”

“But you will. You’ll have to go through the same experiences.”

“Ah, but here’s where you are wrong. This time you will be by my side,” he said.

“It is what I wished from the beginning.”

He leaned closer and kissed the seam of my lips as if asking me to open them. His honey-dipped cherry-flavored lips tasted divine. He continued kissing me down my neck and slowly untying the chemise’s knot in front. His magical fingers traveled across my entire body until they reached the hem and pulled it over my head. Once naked, Gabriel’s eyes, hands, and mouth began feasting on my body. A moan escaped my lips which awakened something in him. Gabriel seemed to turn beastly. Suddenly, I could see a close resemblance to his undead counterpart. Maybe the vampire version of Gabriel didn’t come from turning but from a remote part of his personality that let go of all restraints. By the looks of it, I didn’t have to compare his future or past self, for Gabriel embodied both of them from the start.

Gabriel took off his tunic, reminding me once more of his gorgeousness, then lifted me into his lap to face him. I could see it in his eyes how he planned to devour me. He plunged his mouth into mine and began inspecting it in detail. In the meantime, he let a finger slip inside me. And then another. I yelped at the sudden intrusions but only got a smirk and more intense movements from him. At the mercy of his fingers, I scurried to grab onto him, but he retracted. The audacity. Instead, he hugged me tighter, wrapped an arm around me, and pinned both arms to my back. The cheeky scoundrel. Was this a now or never kind of Gabriel? If so, I did not mind such a change in attitude. I didn’t mind it at all. The longer he delved into me, stripping us of any restraints, the more I melted in his embrace.

“I wish to hold you like this for an eternity so we can mold into one,” Gabriel whispered in my ear. His words set my cheeks aflame.

As he drove once more inside me, I couldn’t bare it anymore and succumbed to the blissfulness of his deft fingers.

“I wish to see you writhe under the touch of my fingers forever. You won’t escape it,” he whispered.

I wanted to tell him I didn’t plan on escaping anytime soon, but he didn’t let me speak as his sensual kiss brought all my senses to his mouth. Smitten by his taste, I pretty much forgot all my thoughts.

Satisfied with my reaction, Gabriel threw me on the bed. “We’re going to make that baby tonight, even if it’s going to take us the entire night.”

I wanted to protest his statement as I still wanted to be able to walk tomorrow, but I didn’t have time as he went for another deep kiss. This man decided to make my mind a mushy mess. I could confidently confirm he succeeded. Gabriel lay in between my legs, and while he bore his eyes into mine, he slowly thrust into me. It took much less time to adjust, and after he made sure of it, he began his rhythmic strokes. The exaltation of being one once more lit something in me. I felt tears escaping my eyes.

“Are you well, my love? Did I hurt you?” Gabriel asked.

“I’m very well. I’m just so happy,” I said as I tried to hide my teary face.

“No, don’t cover your tears. Let them flow.” He removed my hand and began kissing each tear as it trickled down my cheek. “Tears of joy taste ambrosial.”

His gesture surprisingly made me giggle.

“If you wish, we can stop and try for a baby another time,” Gabriel said.

“No, we’re making this baby tonight,” I said, determined.

“As you say, my lioness,” he said, chuckling.

“Oh, that’s a new one.”

“We have enough time to conjure many more.” He gave me a tantalizing kiss and then began to move slowly, still assessing my expressions.
