“Oh, would you look at that,” she said as she revealed the black two piece swimsuit beneath. “Iamdressed to swim.”

I blew air through my mouth as I took her in. The suit perfectly accented her curves, especially her voluptuous breasts. I almost couldn’t take my eyes off of them to see the rest. The slight dip at her waist just before her hips flared wide was practically begging for my hands, and those thick, smooth thighs… they were what dreams were made of. Being in between them, specifically.

I smirked, stepping closer. “My, aren’t you well prepared.”

She smiled up at me, her palms landing softly on my chest. “I take it, you are not?”

Gripping her hips, I pulled her to me. “There’s nothing under these jeans that even slightly resembles swimwear.”

Her full lower lip slid into a pout. Damn, she was cute.

“That’s a shame,” she said. “I really wanted to swim…with you.” She began walking backwards into the water and it glowed around her ankles, each step lighting a path deeper into the ocean.

“I suppose I’ll just have to watch,” I murmured.

“Watch?” She shook her head. “What’s the fun in that?”

I caught her gaze before I answered, letting her know I was serious. “I can’t imagine anything more entertaining than watching the most beautiful woman I’ve laid eyes on bathe in star soaked water.” I tilted my head, my eyes sliding along her profile as she continued sinking into the electric blue water. “It’ll make your perfect skin glow even brighter when it drips off your shoulders and slides along your curves.”

She was probably blushing but I couldn’t see it. Good thing, because no telling what I would’ve done if I was close enough to feel that heat from her cheeks.

Maisy stroked her hands through the water, stirring up more light.

“Star soaked. It really does look like stars,” she mused. “Like the heavens came down and kissed the water, leaving its mark.”

I wanted to leave a mark on her.

She ducked under the water and came up laughing in awe. She splashed, spraying glittering drops everywhere and then laughed some more. She was like a doe in the spring, exploring the world for the first time. And every second I watched, she was stealing my heart.

Grinning, I happily lowered my ass to the sand to enjoy the view.

She could have it all, I decided. The whole damned thing.

I only wanted hers in return.

Chapter Five

Maisy

I lounged on the circular daybed that took up most of the space in Malachi’s beachside cabana. It was canopied with a thin linen that still allowed the moonlight to shine through, and above the bed it opened fully so that the stars could be seen.

I’d already picked out the big dipper. And with Malachi’s help, witnessed a shooting star.

Bet your ass, I made a wish.

I grinned at the sky, loving the way our heads touched as we stargazed. Stars in the ocean, stars above. Stars in my eyes. God, this night felt magical.

Maybe I was drunk on the scent of tropical flowers and briny water that saturated the air. Or the champagne and strawberries Malachi had fed me by hand. But if that was the case, it was the clearest buzz I’d ever experienced.

Because I was already hoping this thing with him would never end. Malachi felt like a forever kind of connection. Something that could last, even though it had just begun.

“What did you wish for?” he asked, bringing my hand to his lips and placing the softest kiss there. The effect was a whole body shiver that had me inching closer to his warmth.

“I can’t tell you or it won’t come true.”

I turned my gaze to find him smirking. At some point his eyes had left the sky and focused on me. How long, I didn’t know.

“Can’t blame a man for trying,” he said.
