I was all in.

“I believe I was meant for you. And you were meant for me.” My hand curved around his cheek as I let my truth fly free. “I believed it when I fell asleep in your arms outside your bungalow. I believe it now. I don’t know what the future holds, but I know I want to experience it with you.”

He breathed a relieved sigh, pressing his forehead to mine.

“Good. Because I would’ve spent an eternity trying to convince you.” He pulled me with him to lie on the bed. I sprawled across his chest, loving the way our enmeshed bodies became one. “Now, I can spend eternity doing other, much more enjoyablethings to you.”

“Oh, yeah?” I lifted my head to meet his lusty gaze, and my heart tripped into a new rhythm. “Like what?”

With a sexy smirk, Malachi bent his lips to my ear to whisper all the naughty things he had planned for us.

I sighed.

The future was going to be so damn amazing.

Epilogue

Malachi

One year later…

Ethan was late. Which meant I was late.

And today was not a day I wanted to be late for.

Not unless it was because I was still in bed with a beautiful, fiery redhead whose buns were as cross as her eyes after I’d thoroughly pleasured her. Ahem.

But said ginger snap was cleverly hiding and had been since last night. Because it was “unlucky to see the bride before the wedding ceremony”. Which was why I’d spent the night at the resort, alone, instead of at home.

I checked my watch. The sun was setting and Ethan should’ve been here five minutes ago to drive me to the beach to meet my bride.

We were exchanging vows at the location of our first date. It was one year ago, to the day, that I watched Maisy swim in the star soaked water of the bay behind my bungalow. Now I’d be pledging my future to her before all of our friends and family.

Excitement thundered behind my sternum.

I couldn’t wait to see her again. This felt like the longest twenty-four hours of my life.

Wait, no.

That would be the twenty-four hours that it took her to decide if she wanted to stay here on Ember Island and work full time at the resort medical center or continue her job as a traveling nurse. Either way, I made it clear I was by her side. Stay or leave. Leave or stay. We were a packaged deal.

In the end, she’d chosen paradise since she would get to engage new people all the time, just like with her traveling job.

But those twenty-four hours of indecisiveness? Yeahhh, I never wanted to live through that again.

Waiting to meet my future bride at the altar wasn’t bad compared to that. Besides, the wait was nearly over.

As if I conjured him, I spotted Ethan’s motorbike as it pulled into the resort. He screeched to a halt right in front where I waited impatiently.

“Sorry I’m late boss,” he called over the engine. “Hope you don’t mind if we take the bike.”

I rolled my eyes. Clearly he didn’t see the importance of keeping my hair in place untilafterI got Maisy home and in bed. Nor did he find it strange that I might not want to straddle his ass for the ride to the beach.

Whatever.

Getting there-- and on time-- was all that really mattered.

The sun sank lower as we made the quick journey to the private beach behind my bungalow. It would be completely dark by the time we promised to spend our lives together. Helena had informed me there was some fan contraption that would blow on the water to stir the algae so it would glow for our nuptials.
