“I understand the need for all this secrecy,” I say quickly. “Seth explained why it’s not safe for you guys to release this information. It is to protect the omegas who’re recuperating at the facility.”

Identical smiles blossom on Simon and Oliver’s faces.

“We’re glad you understand, Princess,” Oliver says, pecking my lips.

A heavy sigh escapes me. Idounderstand how some people would only think of us as objects to steal and sell.

A chill goes through me as a flurry of horrible memories surfaces in my mind. Huddling against Oliver, I bury my face in his chest.

He doesn’t comment about my sudden clinginess. His arm wraps around me, holding me close.

My nerves gradually calm down. A kind of exhaustion spreads over me, making me close my eyes.

“Rory, wake up,” Oliver’s voice jerks me out of my doze. “We’re here.”

Startled, I sit up straight.

The car has come to a stop. Glancing through the windows, I see a vast steel gate blocking our path. Seth is speaking to a guard while handing out an ID card.

Suppressing a yawn, I look down at my wristwatch.

To my surprise, I see that over an hour has passed since I got into the car with the Burton brothers. Even though I’ve been feeling more in control of my emotions, I realize I still have a long way to go before I can overcome my traumatic memories.

The gates before us slowly open up.

“Isn’t he going to hand back your ID?” Simon asks as Seth steps on the gas.

“I can collect it after we’re done with the visit,” Seth answers, driving the car through the gates.

“They’ve never done this before,” Oliver says in a grim tone.

“Well, we’ve never brought in non-military personnel before,” Seth says, looking ahead. “Anyway, it’s just an ID. I can take it back when we leave this place.”

A group of armed guards rushes forward as Seth stops the car before a tall building.

Seth turns around and fixes his gaze on me. “We’re going to have to go into the admin office and issue a pass for you,” he explains.

Simon opens the door to his side and climbs out. Oliver and Seth follow right behind him, leaving me to scamper after them.

I’ve gotten used to seeing men in uniform during my stay at Burton Estate but the vibes of the soldiers in this rehab center are different. They’re all stone-faced men who’re holding onto their guns.

“Hey, come with me,” Seth says, grasping my hand. Oliver and Simon position themselves behind us as he leads me inside the building.

“Don’t look so worried,” Seth whispers as we walk across the vast lobby. “The guards are here to protect us.”

Pressing my lips together, I nod and allow him to lead me forward.

“Hey, Ray-ray!” Simon suddenly shouts from behind us.

Looking ahead, my gaze fixes on a tall, heavily muscled man in the distance.

Simon and Oliver step out from behind us and hurry to meet the stranger.

“Who’s that?” I whisper.

“That’s Raiden Solveig,” Seth tells me. “He’s the one I told you about earlier. He’ll be supervising our visit today.”

Moving closer, I stare at the tall, powerfully-built alpha. He’s as tall as Seth but bulkier than him. As my gaze fixes on his face, I realize he isn’t that scary.
