“Um…”

“Never mind. We can come back later.”

“What?”

My big, beastly, blue-collar man strides out to the front lobby and through the giant glass doors, leaving the entire Thomas Elite Real Estate staff gawking after us.

Titan finally sets me down in front of a truck I assume belongs to him.

“Now we’re finally alone,” he starts, his hands coming up to cup my face. “I need to tell you something.” I blink at him, my mind still reeling from the last two minutes. “I love you. I love every single thing about you, and I’m a miserable fuck without you in my life. I thought you finally figured out I’m no good for you, but–”

“No,” I gasp, my heart breaking for what he must have gone through in the last few weeks.

“I know, princess,” he says soothingly. “I was a little late to the game, but I figured out what happened in the end. Your father found out about us, didn’t he?”

I nod. “Peter,” I whisper through the emotion clogging my throat.

“Fucking Peter,” he growls. His features soften as he turns his attention back to me. One hand trails down my neck and shoulder, coming down to wrap around my hand. He squeezes it, the look in his eyes one of raw vulnerability. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

“I couldn’t,” I say as the tears fall steadily down my cheeks. “My dad was going to fire you, and I know how important this job is to you. So, I agreed to leave immediately and take this stupid, awful job to make my dad happy.”

“Cora… Jesus, I don’t even know where to start.” Titan sighs. “First of all, my jobwasthe most important thing to me. Now, it’s you. My woman. My Cora. You come first from now on.”

“Me?” I say with a sniffle.

Titan smiles down at me, his blue gaze filled with tenderness. “You,” he confirms. “As for the job, I was about to step down anyway, so it doesn’t matter.”

“What? Why would you step down?”

“Because I can’t very well live on a rig while my wife is on land,” he answers easily.

I balk at his response. “Your… wife?”

“Have I not proposed to you yet? That was the whole point of finding you,” he says with a playful smile. I love seeing this side of him.

Titan drops to one knee, and I cover my mouth with my hands as he pulls out a gorgeous diamond ring.

“Cora, my princess. Will you–”

“Wait,” I blurt. Titan looks shocked and hurt, and I quickly finish my thought before he thinks I’m rejecting him. “There’s something you need to know first.”

“Whatever it is, I’m sure it will only make me love you more.”

“I might be pregnant,” I rush to say, holding my breath as I wait for his reaction.

“Pregnant?” Titan’s eyes drop to my belly, and peer back up at me. “That’s incredible,” he murmurs. “Our baby is in there,” he breathes out, resting his hand on my stomach.

“Well, I’m not sure yet. I just figured it out before running into you,” I admit.

Titan shoots to his feet and takes my left hand, sliding the ring on my finger.

“Um, I didn’t say yes yet,” I point out, raising an eyebrow at him.

“You will,” he says with easy confidence. “Until then, let’s find out for sure if you’re going to have my kid sooner rather than later. Either way, I hope you want a big family. I sure do. Never thought I would, but now I want everything with you.”

“Titan…” I don’t know what to say to all of this, but he doesn’t let me spiral.

“We’ll pick up a test from the pharmacy and then go from there. I have a hotel we can stay at until we figure out our next steps. Please, Cora. Let me take care of you. Let me love you.”
