“We miss you guys, but it’s…strange.”

We sat on the sofa, careful not to smoosh Theo’s carefully fluffed pillows. “Strange how?”

“We’re not at the dungeon; we’re not with you guys. There have been some awkward conversations. We’re…settling in. Theo’s helped, you all have, and Brett speaks to his friends every day.”

“No, no. Not us, not Brett’s friends.”

Ryan skirted the issues enough. “Fine. It’s been good, at times, quiet other times. We’re getting better. Brett misses having others around but says he’s finding new ways to fall in love with me all over again.”

That did my heart good to hear. “We were the same, the first day was the worst, we were…tiptoeing a bit around each other when I was in the house. I spent most of the day with the pigs because I was scared to see Theo missing you all so much. That was until Theo took charge.”

“And?”

“Made us a romantic dinner and told me he was afraid. I admitted I was, and, well, we were better. So much better that he decided to get sassy with me. We had a time of it the next night, and since he’s been so calm, he’s scary.”

“That came with a whipping, I’m betting.”

“You’ll see his ass later, I’m guessing.”

Ryan laughed and reached for my hand. “It’s good to see you. It’s good to feel you. We’re still…okay, right?”

“Yes,” I said, and I meant it. “I think, once we all get in a groove, we’ll be fine, but this is important, this first few weeks, mostly sticking to our own homes. Like Brett said, finding ways to fall in love all over again while still loving the two of you on top of it.”

“Good. Brett was worried, and okay, me too.”

“Us too. But seeing you every time, I just know.”

I was kissed then, then we went into the kitchen to catch Brett and Theo making out against the fridge. “Hey,” Ryan said, then went over to them. “My turn.”

Brett came to me as Ryan attacked Theo, and I held Brett, kissing him softly. “Hi,” I said, and he laughed as he said it back, then kissed me harder.

“When is everyone getting here?” Ryan asked while groping Theo, who was complaining that Ryan’s hand was squeezing his bruises.

“Soon, so lay off,” Brett said, then grabbed Theo’s hand and wrenched him from Ryan. “Ben and the others can’t make it, so it’ll just be the local crew, which is good. A nice quiet party.”

“I ordered a ton of food!”

“We’ll eat it! They have a porn shoot in Brazil. Can you imagine? So, they had to go down and get ready for that.”

Theo pouted, but that was over the second the doorbell rang, and he ran into the living room to open the door for the guests. Brett laughed and commented, “Well, this is kind of his home too.”

“Don’t let him get pushy,” I warned. “He’ll push until he feels he owns both places, and you won’t be able to put a picture on the wall without his say-so.”

“Noted,” Brett said, and the two took turns planting kisses on my lips before we went into the living room to find all the guests had arrived, Joel already picking at the canapes, Burke and Damon pointing to the throw pillows, arguing over the fact they hadn’t gotten the right ones for their home.

“I told you, I like the soft creams we got,” Burke pushed.

“They have no color. These are green, but it’s not like they’re garish.”

“If I’d have known we were having a decorating party,” I said to the room, “I’d have brought swatches.”

Burke came over to me, shaking my hand, Damon shook Ryan’s, and we were all greeted warmly by those three and Noah and Eli, who’d been over with Joel, sampling the appetizer trays.

Theo got soft music in the background, threatening everyone’s lives if one bit of food touched the furnishings or rugs. “I still have so much to do at our place! Paint, wainscotting, cornices, new windows, and doors…”

“Excuse me? When did you decide all this?” I asked him, and everyone watched the sparring.

“Please, Master,” he said, then choked on the word before realizing he was in good company.
