Chapter Six

When everyone left, Theo was in a great mood. I still had issues, which made me quiet, and he called me on it in an entirely Theo way. “What’s up your ass when I should be?”

“You ain’t ever gonna be up my ass, Theo,” I grunted.

“Too bad. I’m a great fuck.”

I glanced at him, taking my eyes off my phone where I was watching to make sure the cameras were working. Once my eyes were back on my phone, I didn’t notice he’d left the room, which was another indication I was totally off my game. The next time I saw him, he was on my screen, in the path of one of the cameras, the one on the west side of the house.

“What the fuck, Theo?”

He started by stripping off his shirt and tossing it aside, and I watched as he slowly took off his shoes, pants, and socks.

Standing in the shade of the tree on that side of the house, he glared hatefully at the camera. Then, he stripped off his underwear, but instead of showing off his goods again, he covered himself with one hand while tossing the skimpy black briefs onto the camera, effectively blocking the lens.

“Jesus, you little fuck.”

Before I could get off the couch, the front door banged open, and with his hand still covering his dick, he stormed up the stairs and to his room, slamming that door in his wake.

The kitchen broom was what I used to get the briefs off the camera, and I delivered them to Theo after knocking on his door. When he opened it, he was back in the white silk robe, but at least it was tied closed then. “Don’t do that again.”

“Why? My fucking house, or my family’s house. My fucking camera, as I paid for it. I can do whatever the fuck I want.”

“Why are you trying to piss me off?”

“Why are you being a monster? I was happy! I thought you wanted me to make friends, and I did, then you sat around like you were pissed about it.”

After rolling my eyes, I explained, “It wasn’t you. Have you spoken to Javi or your cousin today?”

“No. Why?”

He was peering down his nose at me, which meant his head was raised hard. It made his curls fall back from his face, and his eyes flashed angrily. Damn, the man was so beautiful; he made me crazy.

“Theo, Danny is trying to negotiate, but…they’re not budging. He’s ready to go to war for you.”

“That’s stupid.”

I needed clarification. I thought that would make Theo happy. “What?”

“I’m nothing to him. He’s not even my blood cousin. Why would he do that?”

I couldn’t deal with his bullshit. “I’m going down to make dinner. I suppose you aren’t coming to help.”

Instead of answering, he slammed the door in my face again. Those two pet peeves I had, the screaming and spitting, were getting joined by that very thing. Someone slamming a door in my face. “Starve, you little fuck!”

After that, I wasn’t hungry, so I grabbed an apple to nibble on and sat in my bedroom, watching the cameras and seething.

I was fucking up. I knew it, and I was pretty sure Theo knew it too. I had a job, I was getting paid, and not to lust after the little creep. I had a job to protect him.

I called Javi, needing some guidance on what was going on with his dilemma. Javi was frustrated from the second he picked up the call. “Who the fuck is this?”

“Hudson Macleod.”

“Hud, man, I’m sorry. I’m ready to pull out my hair here. My ol’ man’s gone feral and ready to go to war. I can’t have him in danger like that.”

“That’s why I was calling. Burke told me.”

“I wanted him to. I haven’t had time to scratch my ass the last few days. Listen, let the pain in the ass know what’s happening, but keep him there. I will see if I can’t get my husband to back off. Theo’s safe for now, right?”
