ANTON

I don’t bother to look up as she enters. I continue to count some cash before wrapping a band around it and throwing it onto the pile. Eventually, I look up and nod to the security guy for him to leave, which he does. I pile up the stacks of cash and slide them into my desk drawer before letting my eyes fall to Piper. Her head is lowered, and her eyes are fixed to the floor. She clearly didn’t realise I own this place because, right now, she looks like she wants the ground to swallow her up.

“Sit,” I order, then I wait a few beats while she lowers into the chair opposite my desk. “How the fuck did you get out of a club that’s supposedly on lockdown?” I spoke to Hulk, the Vice President of The Rebellion MC, just an hour ago and he never mentioned the club princess was AWOL.

“They’re all busy looking for Ace and Mae,” she mutters.

The club’s President was taken along with a club member’s daughter. So far, there have been no leads, and it’s been a few days. “Meanwhile, you’re here getting your tits out for money?”

“That was an accident,” she almost whispers. “I didn’t mean for that to happen.”

I lean back in my chair and watch her fidget uncomfortably. “How the fuck do you dance on a stage in front of hundreds of men, get half-naked, and not mean to do it?”

I think I see the hint of a smile before she chews down on her lip. “Well, I was having a drink at the bar and I followed one of the dancers backstage. Somehow, she thought I was a new dancer, and then I was kind of bustled onto the stage.” She pauses, looks up at me, and shrugs her shoulders. “Sorry.”

I can’t help but laugh. “So, my girls forced you on stage, is that what you’re telling me?”

“It was a misunderstanding.”

“Would it have anything to do with the fact you’re wasted?”

“I just needed to let my hair down. Things have been intense at the club.”

“I take it no one knows you’re here?” She shakes her head. “I should call Hulk.”

She straightens up. “No, please don’t do that.”

“Don’t you think your boyfriend hates me enough without me keeping this from him?” I arch a brow. Hulk hates the Mafia, he’s made that perfectly clear, but the agreement I have is with his father, Ace.

“He’s not my boyfriend,” she mutters.

“Does he know that?”

“Look, I promise not to come back here. I didn’t know you owned it. I just thought it would be a good place to hide out for a few hours.”

I snigger. “On a normal Saturday, this place would be full of your biker friends. You’re lucky they’re preoccupied.”

“Can we keep this between us?” she asks, peeking at me through her lashes.

I scoff. “You don’t have anything I need.” She frowns. “That’s how it works, sweetheart. I keep your secrets, and you repay me somehow.” I pause for a beat and grin. “And it’s not the first secret I have of yours, is it? It’s becoming a habit.”

“Anton, please,” she pleads.

I lean back in my chair. I have a plan forming that could work this to my advantage. “What would Bear and Queenie say about their daughter dancing in a strip bar?”

“They don’t need to know,” she snaps.

I turn my laptop to her, pressing play on the CCTV video of her dancing. She immediately looks away, blushing. “Who knew you were hiding all that under there?”

“What do you want?”

“I haven’t decided.”

“I could tell Tag about this,” she threatens, and I laugh hard.

“You realise Tag is below me, right? In the chain of command, I’m the top. Theverytop.”

“Please,” she whispers, “you can’t show anyone that video.”
