“I’ll talk to her.”

“We should discuss what happens next,” she suggests.

I cup her breasts, and she closes her eyes. “I’m buying you a large diamond to make up for the lack of engagement.”

“I meant our future. A wedding for my family . . . kids . . . our future.”

“If you want another wedding, book it. I’ll pay for whatever you want. White doves, a carriage pulled by a hundred horses . . .” I reach between us, lining myself up at her entrance. She sinks down, and I groan in pleasure.

“I’d like to wait on the kids front,” she says.

I grip her waist and spin us so she’s beneath me. “Not a fucking chance,” I murmur, slamming into her hard. “I don’t want any barriers between us. I love fucking you like this.”

She laughs. “Kids are a massive barrier, Anton. I want more time with just us.”

I bury my face in her neck. “When you put it like that.”

Chapter Twenty-One

PIPER

I watch as Anton slips the ring box into his pocket, and I frown. “Aren’t I supposed to wear that?” I ask.

“You will,” he says, taking my hand and leading me from the Jewellers. Anton had arranged for the place to remain closed while I chose my ring. It was a surreal experience but one he insisted was normal. There were no prices on any on the rings, and when Anton paid, no words were exchanged.

We step out into the fresh air, and he takes my hand. It’s such a normal act, yet it warms my heart. I’ve never had a man so openly show affection—Hulk would never have held my hand in public. Anton opens the car door, and I slide in. He joins me, again taking my hand and placing it in his lap. Michael drives us in the direction of the clubhouse, and I frown. “Aren’t we going home?”

“I have to see Ace about some business,” he tells me, giving my hand a gentle squeeze.

When we step into the clubhouse ten minutes later, there’s hardly anyone around, which is unusual for this time of day. Anton checks his phone. “Ace is out back. I won’t be long,” he tells me, kissing me gently on the cheek and rushing off.

I take a seat on the couch. The place feels eerie without the guys yelling or the kids running around. After ten minutes, I sigh loudly and get to my feet, heading out to find Anton. I shove the back door and gasp. Everyone is right there, staring back at me, and right in front of the crowd is Anton.

“About time,” he says, grinning as he drops down onto one knee. I stare wide-eyed. “Piper, love of my life, my one and only, will you marry me?” He produces the ring.

I bite my lower lip, fighting the smile trying to break through. “Aren’t we already past that?”

“Give the man an answer,” says Ace, laughing.

I nod. “Yes, of course, I’ll marry you . . . again.”

He stands, placing the ring on my finger and pulling me closer. “Is now a good time?”

I frown. “I don’t understand.”

The crowd separates to reveal rows of chairs already set up, dressed in white ribbons and running either side of a red carpet. At the front, there’s a vicar, and he gives a small smile. “Will you remarry me right now?” asks Anton.

“But I . . . this is so . . .”

Mae grabs my hand. “Sudden, we know, but when has Anton ever worried about that? Come, we have your dress upstairs.”

“Upstairs?” I repeat as she drags me back inside the clubhouse followed by the other women.

“We have half an hour to turn you into a bride,” says Mum.

We get upstairs to my mum’s room, where there’s a dress bag hanging up. “Who chose this?” I ask warily, hoping to God it wasn’t my mum. Her wedding dress was like a frilly toilet roll holder.

“Anton,” says Lucy, arching a brow. “We weren’t allowed to peek.”
