Talon came for her soon after and they left the club, but Pinky stayed, and Lesa reappeared with faint bite marks on her throat. We three were the only ones still on the dance floor. I’d taken off my shoes and was dancing barefoot. Only a few other thralls and a couple of vampires were left in the club.

Pinky pulled Chad out from behind the bar to dance with us. Everything—the music, the lights, the alcohol, my desperation—had combined to tumble me into an exhilarated, reckless headspace. We formed a circle with Pinky and Lesa to either side of me and Chad across from me.

The music slowed, became dark and sexy. I closed my eyes and turned in a circle, running my hands down my torso.

Imagining it was Brien, touching me.

When a man’s hands covered mine, it seemed part of my fantasy—until cool fingers guided mine to my breasts.

My eyes flew open. I didn’t have to glance behind me to see who it was; I knew. I’d recognize Brien’s touch, his scent, anywhere.

His lips touched my ear. “Hello, Twilight,” he said in a dark voice.

Chad was dancing only a couple of feet away. Brien didn’t say anything, just looked at him over my shoulder.

The other man’s Adam’s apple bobbed. “Sorry, my lord.” He backed up, slowly at first, then faster until he was practically jogging across the floor to the bar.

Brien brushed my right hand from my breast and covered it with his own fingers. Firm. Possessive.

“Stay away from him.”

“Or what?” I asked, fueled by that reckless, fizzy feeling. “You’ll lock me in my room, sir?”

His growl vibrated down my spinal column. Liquid heat slicked my thighs. I pressed them together.

I’d poked the vampire and he was pissed off. Maybe I should’ve been wary, but I wasn’t. I was turned on.

His mouth went lower. He closed his teeth over the tendon at the turn of my shoulder, and I shuddered.

“I wouldn’t push me, if I were you.” Silky tones. “Not tonight.”

“Yeah?” I snaked my hands up to his neck, twining my fingers around his nape and pressing myself back against him. His dick pressed into the small of my back. “I’m not afraid of you.”

His hand went to my throat, squeezed. “Maybe you should be.”

Lesa and Pinky had disappeared. I hadn’t even seen them go, I was so focused on Brien.

Chad wiped down the bar, gaze carefully averted.

“Leave.” Brien jerked his chin at him. “You’re off for the night.”

“Yes, sir.” Chad set down his rag and disappeared out a side door.

Brien raised his voice. “Everyone else leave, too,” and the few people still in the club cleared out.

His hand slid over my breasts to my bare stomach. His fingers spread out, covering me from my navel to my mound.

“This is mine, Twilight. No one else touches you. If I find you flirting with Chad again, I’ll rip his goddamn head off.”

He said it so calmly, the threat took a moment to register.

I shivered, part excitement, part shock. The recklessness urged me to keep teasing him. But Chad didn’t deserve to be dragged into this.

I feathered my fingers over the short hairs at Brien’s nape. “I wasn’t flirting. Just having a little fun.”

“The only fun you’re going to have is with me. I thought I made that clear. But if you didn’t understand, I’ll be happy to explain exactly what I meant.” He turned me sideways so he could smack my ass, two hard slaps.

My bottom tingled at the words and the dominance.
