“We are.”

“Well, if you would have said that in the first place I wouldn’t have argued.” She clapped as she ran out of my arms and jumped on the back of my motorcycle.

I lifted my sunglasses and eyed her. “You would have argued no matter what I told you.”

“Agree to disagree, Stone,” she beamed, bouncing on the leather seat. This sight was the second-best thing I ever had the pleasure to witness, the first being her coming undone under my touch.

Chapter20

Reggy

The trip to where Sticks and Maryanne were staying was long and exhausting. I’d never ridden a motorcycle before and according to Stone almost wrecked us a handful of times by leaning too far into the curves as we took them. I argued it was his shitty steering, but we both were more than aware who was at fault.

When we arrived, the house was empty, so I had full intentions of exploring the ins and outs of the place. If anything went down, I wanted to know how to get the fuck out of dodge and fast. I would never let myself be in the position I had been in ever again. Regardless of Stone and the entire Crazed Kings Motorcycle Club vowing to keep me safe, I hoped it would never come to that. I wasn’t the same person I was when they took me, and I absolutely wasn’t as naïve. Trust was something I never freely gave to begin with, but now, I was even more reserved with who I gave it to. There was no telling who wanted me dead and who was trustworthy.

“This is us. Mordy will be over there when he decides to get here,” Stone nodded to a room and then across the hall to the adjacent one.

“What do you mean us? Why can’t I have my own room and why is Mordy coming?” I groaned, puffing out my cheeks to keep from stomping my foot.

“Mordy is a good soldier and although he hurt you, he didn’t kill you and that’s saying something. Mordy has…impulse control issues at times.”

“You don’t say.” I shook my head, closing my eyes.

“It’s not obvious at all, right?” he laughed.

“No. Not even a little bit.”

“But there were only two open rooms and I figured you’d rather bunk with me. Unless I read the situation all wrong. Maybe I should have asked. Do you want to share with Mordy instead?” He smirked, walking past me, and going into the room. He stopped a foot into the bedroom, calling over his shoulder, “Are you coming?”

“Nope. You and Mordy can share. I’m taking this one,” I joked, knowing it was out of the question. Stone wouldn’t push the issue, giving me the space I asked for, but Mordy if I had to guess, Mordy would be against my back the first time my eyes closed.

“Your choice. Guess you can hash that one out with Mordicus.” He dropped our bags on the floor at the foot of the bed.

“You listen to me, Graham. Do not ever leave me alone with him again. He’s a lunatic.” I squeaked a little louder than necessary, but there was a reason. The first time I was alone in the car after we met with Andy, I carried out my plan to fuck with Mordy. He stupidly left his bag o’tricks in the backseat where I could easily get to them.

“Bloodlust.” I laughed to myself wrapping the duct tape sticky side up around her handle in a hurry. If Mordy caught me, I was a dead woman. There was no predicting what he would do to me for fucking with his girls, but he was getting what he deserved. Someone had to teach him a lesson and I was the exact person to do it.

My fingers wrapped around a big clump of his weapons, and I stretched the duct tape around all of them, winding it around them until there was no tape left to use. I giggled again dropping the sticky mess in his bag and zipped it as fast as my fingers would move.

“What has you in such a good mood, Éan?” Mordy questioned me as soon he opened the driver’s door. I had to give it to him, his intuition was spot on, but I sure as shit wasn’t telling him what I had done.

“I’m safe-ish, is all.” It was partly true but getting back at him gave me pure satisfaction.

“Aye, lass. For now.” His piercing blue eyes stared at me in the rearview mirror as he moved it back to a position where he could watch me. Stone had adjusted it to see the road when he drove and insisted Mordy ride shotgun for the duration. Of course, Mordy refused to abide by what Stone said and crammed in the backseat with me, which was how his bag ended up beside me. I refused to sit in the back with him without some type of barrier between us.

“Are you smiling while you think of Mordy?” Stone asked point blank, letting his jealously shine, as his jaw twitched.

“Ha. No. You’ll see.” I wiggled my eyebrows and joined him in the bedroom we would be sharing for who know how long of the foreseeable future.

“For fuck’s sake, Bird. What have you done?” His fingers raked through his long hair, and he grumbled.

“Not much.” I shrugged. “Let’s just say I had some quality girl time when you all left me alone in the car.”

“You didn’t.”

“Oh, I so did.”

“He’ll skin you alive for fucking with his toys, Bird. He doesn’t even let us touch them without his consent and supervision. Of course, that doesn’t mean we listen to him, but it pisses him off. We’re his brothers, the only family he has and you’re you. I’m not sure when he’ll completely lose his shit on you, but it will happen. It’s not a question, it is a fucking deadly countdown until he loses his patience. Hell, I didn’t even know Mordicus had the capability of using restraint until I saw him with you. He’s absolutely the last person that you want to be in a pissing contest with, Bird.”
