“Ava.” Viktor’s voice rumbles through my body as he enters.
I run to him, and he catches me. “Thank God.” He hugs me tight.
“Anyone else inside?” Angus asks, walking behind him.
“That should be everyone,” Oliver responds.
“I see Cillian is dead,” Viktor says.
Oliver winks at me. “Thanks to your wife.”
“How about we get our kids and get out of here.” I want to do anything to ignore Viktor’s shocked expression.
“Aye,” Angus adds.
We approach The Box shoulder to shoulder. Even though they’ve cleared Eros, they don’t want to take any chances.
I can’t blame them.
Once it’s cleared, I enter my numbers.
Viktor and I go downstairs together. I feel relieved to be with my kids.
“Brenda, it’s over,” I say loud enough for her to hear me once I unlock both doors.
“Thank goodness.” She hugs me, her body shaking.
“How are my babies?”
“Sleeping.” There’s relief in her voice, which I understand. I feel the same way.
“You can go upstairs. Oliver and Angus are waiting,” I demand.
“Okay,” she says, already leaving.
I face Viktor, “What now?”
“Now we go to a safe house and get some rest.” My heart slips for the second time when he adds, “The war isn’t over yet.”

Sometime Later….
We drive in silence for about an hour. I imagine everyone is exhausted. I can barely keep my eyes open. When we pull up to an industrial building outside the city, Angus drives straight to the back.
He parks and gets out. Viktor and Oliver follow. They take the kids as Brenda and I exit the SUV.
“Where are we?”
“At a property I bought recently,” Viktor answers.
The inside is nothing like the outside. The first floor is set up like offices. Viktor guides us to a set of stairs leading to a loft apartment on the second floor.
“It’s not as comfortable as the mansion, but it should be okay,” Viktor murmurs, cuddling up behind me.
“It’s perfect as long as we’re safe.”
“There are only two bedrooms. Brenda, you can take the one on the left. In the morning, we will take you wherever you want to go,” Viktor adds.
