“You heard me.” Sky smirks.

“Those books you read have warped your mind,” I tell her as we both start walking to the glasshouse.

“Damn right they have. I was imagining things. Two hot men in bed.” She elbows me with a giggle.

“It’s not like that,” I say, shaking my head because it so is going to be like that and I can’t wait to watch, if they let me.

“Oh.” She stills.

I turn around and look at her. “What does thatohmean?” I ask her.

“I’ve heard the rumors before, but I always thought it was gossip,” she explains.

“What rumors?” I ask, pretending not to know what she’s talking about.

“That the prince and his guard are more than best friends.” She wiggles her eyebrows at me this time.

“Skylar.” I gasp.

“What? I’m just telling you what people are saying about the two of them. If you’re going to marry the prince, I think you should know what people are saying,” she states, crossing her arms in front of her.

“Rumors don’t bother me. Look at what people say about us, we know half of that isn’t true,” I tell her, shaking my head as we begin to walk toward the glasshouse again.

“You can talk to me, Rose.” She huffs. “You’re incredibly lucky, if you have found two men who want you,” she whispers into the night air.

“I’m here for the prince, not his guard,” I tell her.

Skylar rolls her eyes at me. “I know, but damn that guard is cute. Don’t you kind of wish the rumors about them were true.”

Yes.

“I wonder if Dante and Enzo do things together?” Skylar continues while wiggling her brows at me.

This has me chuckling. “Does Dante look like a man that likes to share?”

“True, he does give off alpha Dom vibes.” Skylar giggles.

“Sky, what the hell are in your books?” I ask her, wondering where her crazy imagination has come from.

“Just romance, plus I watch a lot of porn,” she says with a shrug. “Have you noticed Enzo keeps checking Maggie out?” Skylar adds, changing the subject.

Wait, what? My mind is getting whiplash with the subject change. No way in the world would he ever do that, not unless he has a death wish. “I doubt he’s checking her out. Dante would kill him if he was. He’s probably keeping tabs on her for Dante. Those romance books are putting crazy thoughts in your head,” I tell her.

“Or maybe it’s opened my mind to the possibilities,” she adds.

“Sky,” I grumble.

“Whatever, let me live in this dream world. It’s better than the real one I’m in.” She sighs as we arrive at the glasshouse.

“How did it go?” Magnolia asks as soon as I step inside.

“He picked you, didn’t he? Officially? Are you moving into the palace tonight? Has he come to whisk you away?” Henrietta peppers me with questions.

“Actually, he’s come to whisk us all back to the palace,” I say, looking around the large, cold, expansive space.

“All of us?” Magnolia questions me.

“Like hell he is,” Dante says, standing up and looking like he’s ready to strangle someone, probably my new fiancé.
