“This,” he says, releasing my hand and moving it between us.

“You denying my orgasm.” I chuckle.

“Among other things, yes that,” he states seriously.

A frown forms across my face.

“Hey, now,” he says, noticing the change in me as he reaches out and cups my cheek. “You have nothing to worry about, I promise you,” he says, trying to reassure me. He then pulls me to him and kisses me. Our lips touch and tiny sparks of electricity sizzle against our skin. I feel the swipe of his tongue against mine as we fall into it. He ever so slightly pulls away and rests his forehead against mine. “I can’t believe how lucky I am to have found you, Rosalie. You’re so much more than I could have ever imagined.”

“Is that good or bad?”

“Good, so, so fucking good,” he says as he leans forward and kisses me again. “Dinner, tonight at seven, you, me, and Greyson, in the garden. Wear something hot and accessible,” he states with a wink.

“Accessible?”

“You heard me.” He chuckles. “Again, Rose, thank you for saying yes. I promise you I will never make you regret the choice,” he adds as his eyes fall to the diamond ring on my finger. I follow his gaze and stare at the rock also. I don’t think I’m going to regret this either.

GREYSON

“Sorry about all the questions in there,” Skylar states as we begin to walk toward her room.

“You’re protective over your sister, that is understandable.”

Skylar nods. “I’m sorry I brought up the rumors too. I didn’t mean to put you on the spot like that. It was just …”

“You have every right to ask that question.”

“And you’re okay that the love of your life is going to be marrying someone else?” she asks me.

I’m silent for a while as I mull this over. “I’m not sure,” I tell her honestly.

“I would have kicked you if you said to me that you were totally fine with it,” she states with a chuckle.

“It’s not a normal situation, but I also don’t have a choice in the matter.”

Skylar stops and looks up at me. “I get it, I truly do. My situation is a little different, I’m not in love with anyone, but I know that I have no choice but to marry whoever I am told to marry for whatever reason they deem fit. Especially because …” she starts and then firmly shuts her mouth and turns on her heel and starts walking again.

“Because what?” I call out after her.

Skylar shakes her head. “It’s embarrassing. Ignore me. I open my big mouth way too much and I say things that should be kept inside my mind. There’s no filter between my brain and my lips.”

“You can trust me, Skylar,” I tell her. “We’re about to be family, sort of in a weird way. I want us to be friends.”

Skylar stops as she reaches her room and turns around to face me. “We’ve never been able to trust anyone before, so bear that in mind when you’re dealing with my sister,” she confesses.

“You think Auggie and I can trust people with our secret?”

Skylar’s blue eyes narrow on me. “I’d assume not.”

“You can come to me with anything, Skylar, and I promise you, I’ll protect you. You’re inside the circle now.”

Skylar’s shoulders fall. “Thank you,” she says, giving me a small smile.

“I’m a good listener too.”

“Guess I need to rip the band-aid off.” Skylar huffs. “I’m a virgin, Greyson.”
