“Shush, sweetheart. Are you in pain?”

“N-No, sir.”

“Just scared then. That’s okay.” Thane shot Elias a look that said quite plainly,I hope you know what you’re fucking doing. He touched her cheek; she pressed it into his hand with a sob. “Your Daddies are right here, Callie. No matter what, they’ll keep you safe, even when you’re frightened. Do you trust them enough to keep going?”

Tears trickled from beneath the blindfold, wetting Thane’s palm. “It’s not that simple—”

The Dom tsked gently. “It really is, Callie. Do you believe they’re going to hurt you?”

A hard shudder rippled through her. “No, sir.”

Eli breathed a sigh of relief. That, at least, was a comfort. If she thought for one moment that either he or Evander could use this opportunity to hurt her…he’d walk away. He’d have to, because if she believed it—truly, down to the soul, believed he could hurt her, there really was no trust.

“Good girl, that’s a pleasing answer.” Thane stroked his thumb over her cheekbone. “Are you ready to continue?”

“I…” She swallowed, lowering her chin. “Yes.”

The compassionate Dom gave her cheek one last stroke before stepping away, returning to his seat.

Elias resumed his place in front of her as Evander stood guard at her back, his hands on her hips. “I gave you a command, Callie.”

“Yes, Daddy.” Her whisper was so quiet and forlorn. Did she realize she was killing him bit by bit, even as she probably thought he was doing the same to her.

She offered her hands to him; he placed the belt in them, curling her fingers around the wide leather strap.

“Touch it, Callie. Run it through your fingers, feel how supple it is. Soft, tended to. It’s innocuous, just a strip of leather. There’s no cruel intention in it, no desire to harm.” He guided her hand along it, back and forth. “It needs force behind it to cause pain. That comes from the person wielding it.”

“I hate it.”

“Understandably. You’ve been abused, little one. Badly, brutally abused by people you trusted. But the belt isn’t at fault; the belt is just a tool.” Eli rolled his head, then took the implement from her grasp. “Tonight, you’re going to learn that the snap of a strap brings pleasure, not pain. Trust that your Daddies know what we’re doing.”

Her lip quivered. “You’re going to use it on me.”

“Not yet. Not ever, if the damage done to you is so great it can’t be overcome. We don’t want to desensitize you so we can beat you every night, Callie. We want to do this so you can hear or see a belt and not dive into panic mode.” He cupped her chin, smearing the tear dangling off the slight point. “We want you to be able to go to a club and enjoy yourself instead of bolting at the snap of a cane.”

“Maybe I can just wear earplugs?” she suggested, attempting a weak smile.

Both men chuckled. “That would give you too many excuses to ignore an order.”

“No, I wouldn’t, I—”

Elias jerked his chin at Evander, giving him the signal. He watched, rather enviously, as his partner trailed his big hands up Callie’s curvy frame to cup her breasts. Her moan cut her sentence off mid-stride, and she leaned into him as he massaged her tits, teasing her nipples.

Her entire stance shifted from defensive into receptive, her head falling back against Evander’s chest. She hummed her appreciation, widening her legs as though beckoning someone to touch her.

It was almost time to take the clamp off. Her clit was swollen and dark red; he could only imagine how it must be throbbing, especially as her heart rate increased.

Folding the belt in two, gripping the end and the buckle, Elias raised his arm level with his waist, then brought it down against his thigh with considerable force.

Leather smacked sharply against leather, the sting radiating through his leg.

In Evander’s arms, Callie turned rigid, a shrill scream filling the room. Her back arched, then she doubled over like someone had punched her in the stomach. Barely had the scream ended when she cried, “Red!”

Knee-jerk reaction. Despite him telling her not two minutes ago that he wouldn’t strike her, her brain was wired to connect sound with feeling. Her body responded the same way, likely experiencing phantom pain.

Everything stopped.

Evander tried to move away as he had before, but Callie dug her nails into his forearms like a lifeline.
