“Stand and lift your arms, Callie. Step away from the bed. Close your eyes.”

Three orders fired at her in quick succession. His Dom voice was in full force, a necessary shield he required to keep her emotions from softening him when she needed him to be strong.

Like the good girl she was, she obeyed. Slowly, almost resignedly, but she shuffled to stand in front of him, big gray eyes closed, her arms lifted high and straight.

He bent and touched her cheek with his lips. “We’re very proud of you, minx.”

The tense muscles in her jaw relaxed.

Removing the dress wasn’t as easy as putting it on. It turned itself inside out as he pulled the hem upward, revealing the scrap of wet fabric and a lot of glistening skin. Her breasts were hard-tipped, pebbling in the air as he exposed them, and then…the dress was gone, and she was damn near naked.

Evander approached from the rear, a blindfold spread between his hands.

“Lower your arms, little one, and link your fingers together at the nape of your neck. That’s perfect, well done.” He jerked his chin at Evander. “Take a deep breath, Callie. Blow it out slowly.”

Nerves were getting the best of her, he noted. Trembling like a tiny sapling in storm winds, she was struggling to control her breathing. She flinched when he set his palm between her breasts, then jerked as Evander wrapped the blindfold around her eyes.

“No, don’t do that. I can keep my eyes closed, I promise.”

“Shush, little one. I know you can. You’re our good girl. But we’re taking a piece of you tonight, just one. We’ll let you keep your sense of smell and your voice, your ability to move, but your sight belongs to us now.”

Her small whimper should have ramped his arousal from half-mast to full steam ahead, but knowing what he had to do soured his sadistic urges.

Evander’s hands stroked over her shoulders, down her sides, to the ridiculously thin strips of fabric holding the thong in position.

Leaving his friend to remove it, Elias exhaled slowly and walked to the bed, flipping open the folded blanket to reveal his tools. They weren’t toys tonight; toys brought pleasure, offered an enjoyable experience.

These, for Callie, were instruments of torture, nothing less.

He picked up the belt first, wrapping his fist around the buckle end to still the telltale jingle. Bringing it back to her, he cleared his throat before he spoke. “Callie, hold your hands out in front of you, palms up.”

Hesitantly, she unlinked her fingers and let her arms drop, raising her hands exactly the way he asked. She jolted again when Evander set his own on her shoulders, kneading the tense muscles gently in reassurance. “I don’t like this.”

“We know. Just remember you’re safe here, and you’re loved.” The giant blond’s jaw was so rigid, it was a surprise his teeth weren’t cracking under the strain.

Elias laid the belt across her open palms.

Color leeched from her face first, draining away in the space of a heartbeat. The beautiful flush she’d worn since the clamp went on disappeared, and a ghostly pallor replaced it.

“No.” Voice hoarse, she shook her head. “Daddy, no.”

Christ, his heart splintered when her voice cracked onDaddy. There was so much pain and fear in her tone, he felt it resonate in his bones. Add in the bite of betrayal…he rubbed his knuckles over the ache in his chest.

In the next breath, Callie launched the length of leather aside as though it was a deadly snake. Her knees buckled at the harsh sound of the buckle jangling when it hit the floor; Evander banded his arm around her waist and held her up, murmuring to her all the while.

They’d agreed on this. One good guy, one bad guy.

Elias had drawn the short straw, of course. While he hated being the one who ripped open old wounds and flushed out the shit poisoning her, they both knew Evander didn’t have the necessary streak to take this as far as it needed to go.

“It’s only leather, little one.” He retrieved the belt, bringing it back to her. This time, her hands were fisted, so tightly they shook. “Open your hands, Callie.”

He saw it coming, reading it on her face.

“Red!”

Both he and Evander stepped back; Thane rose from his chair and came forward. “Callie?”

“Not the belt. Please, not the belt. I don’t want to do this anymore.”
