Anya, I hope you didn’t pick now to run off.

Besa smiled. Bending, he pulled out a rocket launcher from the leather bag at his feet. “Let’s see if I can even these odds.”

He aimed at the vehicles and pulled the trigger. If there was a commotion, I would never have heard it. I did see the men running and ducking for cover. In our current location, we were exposed. I fired several shots. Four men fell to the ground, and I moved closer trying to get a better angle to pick them off.

Boom. Boom. Boom.

The scene below erupted in a haze of fire. Too bad over thirty men had already escaped the car blast. It was only a matter of time before they called for reinforcements. Gunfire started hitting several places on the roof. Besa and I had coverage but we needed to move soon.

I ducked as another bullet flew past my face. “I can't pinpoint the shooters’ location. My gut tells me they're farther away than what we can see.”

Besa sighed. “You know the Vietnamese always have snipers on hand. Let's get the hell out of here.”

After firing a couple of rounds, we burst through the door. I skidded to a halt, and ducked as a bullet flew near my head. A man appeared in the hallway. I fired two shots at him and rolled behind the snack machine. Besa ducked behind the ice machine. He popped his head out and fired. I peeked out and saw two men standing outside the entrance way. I aimed at the one on the left shooting him in the ankle. As soon as he bent down, I shot him in the head. Running toward them, I grabbed my knife and threw it at the man on the right. It lodged in his chest and he fell to the floor.

Mikhail rounded the corner. He looked down at the floor. “We have company, follow me.”

Besa snorted. “There seems to be more than the thirty I saw out there. I hope reinforcements haven’t arrived already.”

The way Mikhail led us, he had left a lot of dead bodies in the hallway on the way to reach us. I wasn’t surprised at all. Viktor was very protective of his baby brother, and he was an excellent sharpshooter. With Mikhail in front and Besa covering the rear it wasn’t hard to kill eleven men on our way back to the room.

Besa closed the door behind us, and I walked over to the window. From our room, we had a magnificent view of the southside street and a partial view of the alley nearby. There are more SUVs outside now and additional cars in the alley as well.

Tarion checked his ammo. “Jetmira and I ran into some of the Vietnamese on our way up here. We killed all of them except one. The Dragons are here also and they want our blood.”

Jetmira nodded. “Where are Irma and Anya? I expected them to be here.”

Mikhail shook his head. “I saw Le Gia Kien, Pham Cao Phong’s second in command. He's a crazy bloodthirsty bastard. We must find them before Le does. That sick fucker loves to torture and kill women. The stronger the female, the stronger his desire to break her.

This situation sucked. Where are they?

I began to pace.

My stomach muscles tightened. I thought of what would happen if the Vietnamese mafia captured Irma and Anya. Anya wanted to go to Vesim’s home so she wouldn’t have left now. Someone took her. Irma was smart. She was Albanian and she would be able to maneuver in Prague, but she might not risk her ass for Anya.

Damn. I shouldn’t have taken the weapon from her.

Mikhail took out his phone. He turned to me. “Irma, where the are you? The Dragons are everywhere.”

“Boss, I can't talk now. I'm cornered and I'm trying to get away from these assholes. They will find me soon if I don’t put more distance between us.

“Where are you now?”

“I'm currently crawling in the air duct making my way to Tarion’s room.”

“No don’t go there. They've come here to our room. I’m certain Le has already discovered Tarion’s room and will have men hiding inside. It won't be safe for you there. Go to the roof. I’ll meet you there.”

“There's no way you can get there from the room. You’re their target. They are searching everywhere for you.”

“I promise that I’ll be there in thirty-five minutes. Have I ever broken a promise?”

“No. I don't want you trying to die to keep this one either. I’ll find a way out. I will reach out to you when I know it’s safe to call.”

“Is Anya with you? If so, give her a gun.”

“She was taken before the Dragons arrived. I’m not sure which one of her enemies took her. I found a trail of blood and heard signs of a struggle. I followed the blood to the fifteenth floor before it disappeared. I was searching for her when I ran into a Vietnamese hitman.”

“I’m hanging up. I’ll meet you thirty-five minutes from now. See you soon.”
