“Sorry,” I reply. “It’s going to be weird not living with you and Freya anymore.”

Three years of my life have been spent with them. They’re like sisters to me. Growing up, I always wanted a sibling, but now I’m glad my parents didn’t reproduce again.

“We need to have wine Facetime nights every week.”

“Done.”

“Hey, if you do get a job here, you could move into Marvin’s old room and live with Casper and Reggie.”

She laughs at the horror on my face.

“There is absolutely no way that is ever happening,” I tell her.

Living with two men. No, thank you.

“You want to know what I think?”

“Go on.”

“You and Casper should have sex and get all that anger out.”

I press my lips together, my face paling.

There’s no way she knows Casper and I have slept together; she wouldneverbe able to hold that in.

“No, I’m serious,” she says, misreading my expression completely. “I think it would clear the air. You could both move past all the arguing then. Consider it.”

“Thanks for the advice.”

I can confirm that sex does not stop us arguing. We had sex while telling each other how much we didn’t want each other.

Which washot.

We’ve already argued and kissed in the two hours I’ve been here.

“Dance with me,” she says, taking my drink and putting both glasses down on the little table beside the sofa.

This time, when I’m dancing, Casper doesn’t look like he wants to commit first degree murder.

A few hours later, my head is lightly spinning but nothing can deter me from sneaking over to Casper’s. Freya and Imani insisted we go home together, so I’ve had to leave Casper’s place with them. I was hoping Freya would leave with James, and Imani would take Marvin back to ours. That’s what usually happens after their house parties, but of course, not tonight.

They’re both now occupied with their boyfriends and won’t notice me sneaking out.

At least, I hope not.

Shoving my cover off, I get out of my bed still fully clothed and make my way downstairs. I made sure to make everyone a drink before the other four went off to their respective rooms. It meant the men put their keys and wallets down in the kitchen rather than upstairs.

I’m good at sneaking around.

I let myself out, wincing as the front door closes louder than I’d hoped it would. Tilting my head, I look up to the windows but don’t see any lights switch on, so I move on to around the back of Casper’s house. I use the key I stole from Marvin. I thought I was going to have to message Casper to let me in, but this way is much more fun.

For one second, I do wonder if it’s smart, considering the break-in, but I’m not here to steal anything. This might be in bad taste, but whatever, he deserves it.

His face is going to be brilliant.

I let myself in quietly and tiptoe upstairs. If Reggie walks out of his room, I will have no explanation at all. Although, he might not be here because I don’t know if he left with anyone. There was talk about meeting Eric, our circus friend.
