“Your bedroom.”

Laughing, he gets off the bed and holds his hand out. “That will happen later. Today, I’m going to distract you without the use of my dick.”

“My least favourite sentence.”

“You are very rude. I’m a gentleman.”

I snort as I let him pull me up. “Sure. Okay, take me… ice skating.”

“Ice skating.”

“I’ve always wanted to but never got around to it. They have a rink at that ski centre in the city. Why are you looking at me like I’m crazy?”

“That’s really what you want to do?”

“Yes.”

“So you can watch me fall on my arse?”

“Yes.”

“Fine. Let’s go.”

“Can I drive your car?”

“No.”

“Unfair.”

He opens the passenger door for me like a gentleman, then drives the forty-five minutes to Snow and Ice.

We’re fitted for ice skates and left to it, the rink relatively quiet today, meaning there are fewer people to witness me falling over.

I take Casper’s hand, and we laugh our way onto the ice, him holding onto the wall to steady us both. I laugh when I wobble, sliding forwards and colliding with his chest. It was unplanned but very welcome.

He must agree because he lets go of my hand and holds me against his chest.

“We should skate more often,” he says, kissing me.

I push his chest, laughing. “We haven’t done any skating yet.”

“I like the way we do it.”

“Skate with me.” I take a step back and let the blades glide, getting my footing right.

He watches me with a smile that makes my heart flutter.

“Come on,” I say, turning like this is my first time using my legs.

“If I see your phone at all, I’m leaving.”

“Worried that you won’t be perfect at this?”

“I mean it, Ainsley.”

“Fine. No photos of you falling on your arse. As if I’d need photo evidence, anyway. Once you’re down, it’ll be imprinted on my mind forever.”

“That’s not very nice.”
