I watched her for a moment. She looked so much younger when she slept, all the worries she carried with her swept away by sleep. Her skin was perfect, like porcelain, and completely blemish free. Long, dark lashes brushed her cheeks; she truly was a vision.
As if she felt me staring at her, and that was what woke her, she fluttered her eyes open, and they landed on me. She smiled.
“You’re a sight to wake up to.”
“I was just thinking the same thing,” I said with a grin. “How are you feeling?”
“I’m okay,” Liv said and pushed up in bed. She was naked—I’d claimed her as mine again last night, and I wanted to do that every night for the rest of the foreseeable future, if I could.
Liv was incredible in every way.
She held the sheets to her chest as if I hadn’t seen it all, and her cheeks colored lightly as she blushed.
“What are your plans for the day?” I asked.
“Well… I don’t know,” she said. “Since I have a day off from training for a change, and I don’t have much else to occupy me while I’m stuck here—”
“Spend the day with me,” I said, cutting her off.
I hated that she still referred to staying here as beingstuckhere. It wasn’t wrong—she couldn’t leave until I knew she was safe, and I had no idea when that would be—but I didn’t like that it was a negative thing.
Having her here, so far, had been nothing but positive for me. Everything about her was different than any other woman I’d known, and I wanted to explore what that meant. I wanted to explore what she could be to me.
I wanted her to see it as a good thing, too.
What if, when she has the option, she’ll choose to leave?
I squashed the small voice at the back of my mind.
Women always wanted the same thing from me—the chance to be seen with me, attention, money. I was the one who told them to fuck off when I was done with them.
With Liv, it was different. She didn’t want my power. She didn’t want my money.
Hell, she didn’t wantanythingfor herself. She was all about helping others.
Fuck if that didn’t make her so much hotter than she already was.
“Don’t you have work to do?” she asked.
I shrugged. “There’s always work to do.” After all, I owned several companies. I was trying to win the vampires over. I wanted to find a cure to enchanted blood disorders, and there was an active hunt for Liv I wanted to prevent if I could. “Even people like me have to take some time off once in a while.”
I wanted to be with Liv, but I also had an idea of what we could do to help matters along.
A small smile played around Liv’s mouth when I said the words.
“Unimaginable,” she said.
I chuckled, leaned forward, and kissed her. Her mouth fascinated me on a daily basis. I wanted to kiss her whenever she said something interesting. I wanted to kiss her when she smiled. I wanted to kiss her when she was angry, her lips pursed together. I wanted to kiss her all the fucking time.
“So, is that a yes?” I asked.
Liv nodded. “I can easily see myself spending the day with you. I’ll cancel all my other appointments.”
It took me a moment to realize she was joking, but she broke into a smile, and then she giggled.
I grabbed her and kissed her. Fuck, this woman was driving me crazy.
She gasped when I rolled onto her and grinded myself against her. I was hard again, ready to take her for another round. Fuck, when we were together, I could bounce back after an orgasm in no time at all and go again.
