He drops his forehead to mine. “Yes, my love.”

I move up the stairs first, and he gives me a playful spank on the behind like I knew he would.

I laugh and turn around to face him, my heart full of love as always. “You’re incorrigible.”

He grins, his eyes twinkling mischievously. “You love it.”

“I do,” I say, leaning in to kiss him. “I love everything about you.”

We make our way into our bedroom, still chuckling at each other’s jokes and teasing. As we slip into bed and snuggle close, I can’t help but think about how lucky I am to have found my soulmate all those years ago. Even after all this time, he still makes me feel like the most beautiful, cherished woman in the world.

Archie grabs my hand over the covers and kisses my knuckles. “You think we’ve earned that happily ever after yet?”

I raise an eyebrow. “Why? You plan on dying on me soon?”

“Hell, no, I plan on annoying you until you get old and crusty.”

“I already am old and crusty.”

“Oh, please, you still look like a springy sixty-year-old.”

I laugh at his compliment. “And you still act like a teenage boy.”

Archie grins, his eyes glinting with mischief. “Well, that’s because you always keep me young and agile.”

I shake my head but can’t help the smile that spreads across my face. “To answer your question, no, I think we’re still in a happy-for-now phase. You still have a few decades of happiness to give me, mister.”

“Good,” he murmurs, his hand stroking my hair. “Because I plan on giving you a lifetime of happiness, missus.”

Archie yawns and drops his head on the pillow, reaching under the covers to pull me closer. My head rests on his chest. I close my eyes and listen to the sound of his heartbeat. As we drift off to sleep, arms wrapped tightly around each other, I know that whatever the future may bring our way, we’ll face it together with unwavering love and devotion. For Archie and me, there will always be another tomorrow.
