A smirk slid across his face. “And the other women? Would you do things for them?”

I huffed in irritation. “You know, you’re being super cryptic. If you have something to say, just say it.”

“Alright, I’ve been thinking about how my wife got into Jane’s house and spent an entire fucking week there without any of us knowing. In order to do that, they would need access to the security footage.”

“Then look at it.”

“I did. It’s funny, they were able to get inside the house without setting off any sensors, and there’s no trace of anything being done on our end. That would take someone extremely skilled and experienced with our technology.”

Well, I didn’t think it would take him this long to figure it out, but I guess he’d finally gotten there. “It would. Whoever did that would need to know how to cover their tracks.”

“And we both know that’s not Dash,” he said, his eyes gleaming with humor.

Damnit, he purposely did that because he knew I hated to admit how good Dash was. If I finally said Dash was good enough to pull something like that off, he’d rub it in my face for all eternity. And if I didn’t say that, it put everything on my shoulders. Unless…

“However, there is someone that would do anything for Eva, including asking a friend for help.”

“Yeah? Who’s that?”

“Fox,” I grinned. “And his friend, the Kamau, happens to be a very good hacker.”

“But he doesn’t know our systems.”

“Cash, any good hacker would know how to erase what they’d done. If I were you, I’d put in a call to Sebastian and find out just what he’s been up to. After all, your wife was involved in this whole thing.”

And with that, I turned and walked out of his office, grinning the whole fucking time. I turned the corner and nearly plowed into Lock. He grabbed my arms to steady me, though I didn’t need it. And then he didn’t let go. He studied my face for a good minute before a grin filled his face.

“So, you finally admitted you’re in a relationship.”

My eyebrows shot up in surprise. “I’m sorry, where did you get that from?”

“Well, you didn’t yell at me for running into you. And you didn’t try and take me down like you normally would have.”

“I don’t try to do anything,” I corrected.

“And you have a slight smile on your face.”

“So? Maybe I’m having a good day.”

“Which means you either made a huge discovery or you got laid. If you’d made a huge discovery, we all would have heard about it by now.”

“Or maybe I’m just happy.”

“Rae, we all know you’re a happy person. There’s no denying that. Give you a weapon and you’re happy.”

“Your point?”

“This goes beyond happy. It’s the way you’re carrying yourself. You’re looser today, like you’ve been released of tension.Sexualtension.”

“Who says shit like that?”

“Like what?” he asked, sounding offended.

I lowered my voice so I could mimic him. “Like you’ve been released of tension.” I eased back on my impression of him. “Can’t you just say something normal?”

“Released of tension is normal,” he snapped.

“No, you could have said…like I wasn’t stressed or overwhelmed, but no. You went withreleased of tension. That’s not even a thing!”
