“I’ll be right back,” she called, heading to her phone for ideas.

When she picked it up, she saw a text from J.T. Merriam and pulled it up immediately.

Hey! Uncle Arthur is already doing his thing. He wants to come up for the press conference Friday and interview you and a few others afterward if you can swing that. Trevor and Aunt Clara are going to go up with him. Becca is swamped with guests, and Quinn and Francesca can’t get away from the company right now. But they all say hi!

She shot back a quick response.

Cool! Anything he needs. I can’t wait to see Trev again and meet your aunt. She’s a huge patron of the arts, if I recall. Thanks so much!

This time she did a little dance in place. She still couldn’t believe it. Arthur Hale was going to investigate Malcolm Coveney.

“Find a movie?” Liam called from the kitchen. “You have two more minutes until my rice is ready.”

She was grinning as she did an internet search for man versus nature movies. She’d seen most of them, but there had to be something out there likeMoby Dick. After two minutes, she wanted to pull her hair out. Were there no movies before Netflix started making them? She couldn’t believe what articles she was being served.

“TryThe Poseidon Adventure.”

She uttered a shriek and juggled her phone in her hands as oranges filled her nose. “Oh my God! Stop doing that!”

The ghostly woman in the white dress simply swayed in her parlor like she’d stepped out of a Jane Austen movie. “You were hitting a wall. I figured you might like Gene Hackman the way I do. I was only being helpful.”

“Helpful? Does appearing to me like this really come under the category of matchmaking?”

She gave one hell of a good smirk for a ghost. “Isn’t Liam cooking you dinner?”

Taylor shot her a smirk back for good measure.

“And it’s Saturday, Taylor.” Then she gave her a long look. “The day you’ve been wondering about.”

With that, she vanished. Taylor sank down on the couch’s arm.Saturday?Like this Saturday? Five nights away Saturday! This ghost was making her totally nutso.

“You ready for dinner?”

She looked over. Liam was standing in the doorway, hot as hell with a shamrock potholder in one hand. Should she tell him what Sorcha had said? Nah. She couldn’t take it if they were both counting down the days. She could almost hear a movie announcer in her head—Only five days to go, Taylor McGowan, until you get freaky with the hottest dude on the planet. Get ready!

Lust roared like a lion through her overheated system. Oh, she was so ready in body, but the whole spirit and soul thing? What did that even mean really? She made herself smile. “Sorcha suggested a movie. I hope we’ll like it.”

“How nice of her,” he said, coming over and taking her hand and leading her back into the kitchen. When she took a seat at the table, she noted he’d lit a candle, set the table properly with cloth napkins, and set her wineglass beside her plate. God, she’d hit a home run with him.

“Mum says hi, by the way.”

“So she’s passing me messages through you already? Like a couple? And she’d been doing so well. No wobbly expressions as she watched us together.”

His shoulders were shaking as he brought over the bowls of rice and curry. “Wobbly expressions, huh? I’ll have to look for those.”

When he started to serve her, suddenly it was too much. She put her hand over his and stopped him from dishing up her rice. “I know we’ve established that seeing your domestic side makes me hot, but you don’t have to do all this.”

He grew puzzled. “What?”

“Dish out my grub.” She grabbed the spoon to the curry and started dishing herself. “I can do it.”

“But I’m happy to do it.” He laid his hand over hers. “Hey! What just happened?”

“I’m drowning in all the Kool-Aid.” She searched his face, thinking about Sorcha’s sex prophecy. “Do you not have any moments where you think this is all really weird or too fast? Liam, I just got our movie night suggestion from a ghost!”

Who’d also told her the day they were going to get it on.

“Is it a good movie?” he asked, his mouth twitching as he spooned himself up some really nice-looking jasmine rice, followed by the spicy-scented curry.
