So I had to make things right.

I was writing my own redemption story.

And it appeared I needed to make another sacrifice.

Anyone of those three would do.

But the woman intrigued me most. She had spunk and a touch of rebellion in her eyes.

I knew what Father had taught me growing up about women like that.

They were of the devil.

He’d said a woman who loved God was submissive and quiet.

Nothing like this woman I was watching right now.

Father wouldn’t approve of her.

She was the type who wouldn’t listen to a man. I’d seen it as I watched her interact with the men she was with. She didn’t sit back and stay quiet. No, she voiced her opinions as if they were important.

As ifshewere important.

Anger burned through me at the thought. I couldn’t stand women who didn’t know their place.

Which would make her the perfect sacrifice.

Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power?

Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?

Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you washed in the blood,

In the soul-cleansing blood of the Lamb?

Growing up, my time spent at church offered the only moments I really felt any peace. Maybe that’s why I like church so much now. I’d found my place within the rules and confines of religion. It was my safe place.

I knew what I needed to do.

I needed to silence the woman.

But not now. Not with these two with her.

Maybe I’d warn her first. Give her a chance to repent of her ways.

Maybe she would heed my warning.

Otherwise, it was time to cleanse the world of someone who had no desire to be washed of her impurities.

And I still had to find that deed.
